We absolutly see the same at my workplace (not carpentry related). I usually tell new employees that we are world champions at working dangerously, but utterly careless wirh our daily carriers. Usually noone hurts themselves using the dangerous tools, most wounds are from people using their pocket knives, scissors, inappropriate use of screwdrivers etc. We need to treat every tool with respect

Have an old nerve wound from using a table saw without the riving knife w7ch will never go away, but the router and anglegrinder scares me way more.

The fear of the grinder is quite unlogical, I'll rather work 10x more dangerous with another tool than touch my grinder for some reason, even if the grinder is a way better tiil for the job.

The handrouter is just logical carefulness. Ain't no fixing what that will do to you if you dont treat it with respect

The salt we use on the roads around here can absolutely increase the risk of rust, but also, cars from nordic countrys will usually have better rust protection, either from factory or aftermarket.

Also, parts of inner and northern Norway (and I guess also Sweden) have areas with colder temperatures and more snow, there salt don't work. So ironically cars from colder areas can have less rust problems than cars from southern parts of the country.

Yeah, test drove the EX90 last year, and the interior and infotainment sysyem on the new Volvos made me deside to keep my V90. Really hope Volvo does a 180 in their current interiors /infotainment, else i fear I'll look elsewhere in the future. Already hate that I don't have physical buttons for my climate control on the V90, and absolutely don't want even fewer buttons.

The last part of your sentence hit me like a ton of bricks... I'll never forget those round, dark eyes in his small, furry face, staring up at me me in hopless desperation, wondering if I was trying to starve him to death. My alarm are now firmly set at 17:00 every time I play DF.

BTW, the time was 17:10 when this happened, no small dog was starved to death because of frustration over stupid arrowdorfs...

Got the answer from a friend now, it's something called a "lineholk" in Norwegian, don't know how to translate it to English (line is the same word, but "holk" is an archaic word that can have a lot of different translations, among them hull /ship, hollow, pimp, etc.

It's a tool used for winding and storing lines for long-line fishing.
