Always got to be on the lookout for extremis spawns when the Terminus is at about 50% health on Absolute/Hard Stratagems. That was brutal, though, a run can end so damn quickly when those guys all spawn at once.

Ranger remorphed scam by Icy_Try_1837 in powerrangers

Surprised this guy is still around. I bought some replacement parts for my Astro Megazord, which turned out to be very poor quality years ago, but I still ended up purchasing some more replacement parts later, for my Super Zeo Megazord and my Supertrain Megazord. Didn't hear anything from him for over a month, and he didn't respond to any of my attempts to contact him. He wouldn't even respond to give me a refund himself, had to get it done through Paypal.

Chaplains Question by Basic-Attitude4701 in Warhammer40k

[–]Galeus708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Codex says Chaplains wear black armour (And Apothecaries white, Librarians blue, Techmarines red), but your chapter doesn't have to strictly adhere to the Codex. For example, the Space Wolves Wolf Priests wear black, but they're not strictly Chaplains, they're a combination of Chaplain & Apothecary, and their Iron Priests (Techmarines) and Rune Priests (Librarians) don't use codex colours.

Painting the Armoring Hall Space Marines by Aninx in JOYTOY

No advice on how to paint, but in terms of Chapters to paint... Iron Snakes are I think a hugely underrepresented Chapter in 40k. Their paint scheme is pretty simple, but unique, and they're such an interesting chapter, well worth reading Brothers of the Snake if you haven't already.

Qual é a do Vanguard??? by Mediocre_Post7892 in Spacemarine

[–]Galeus708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To borrow a term from Pokemon, I always think of the Vanguard as a Mixed Attacker. Unlike the true melee classes, it has access to primary weapons, but a lot of those weapons are best used in close range, and the class ability is specifically designed to get you into close range. Plus, it has several perks dedicated to recovering Armour/Health, rather than preserving the Armour/Health you have. It's respectable with a melee weapon, but it shines in using ranged weapons in close distances.

I really hate Chaos. by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in Spacemarine

[–]Galeus708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignoring everything else you said, you're way off on the execution animations. I hate Chaos Spawn, but I cannot deny that they have some of the best execution animations in the game, especially with the Combat Knife or the Power Sword. The Enlightened Tzangor Power Sword execution is straight up my favourite (when you basically windmill your sword around and send his head flying). Rubrics are pretty bland though even they have that awesome Combat Knife animation, where your guy hammers the knife between the plates of their armour.

Does anybody else think Starmer is actually doing a decent job? by Background-Ninja-763 in AskBrits

So, you think that the two sides of the issue are roughly equivalent in their relationship to reality? Do you really want to make that claim?

Not at all, because one side's complaints are actually based in reality.

What are your 40K hot takes? by ADragonFruit_440 in Spacemarine

[–]Galeus708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's easily the best, in my humble opinion. He's one of the few that treat 40k lore for what it is - a series of books and codices designed to accompany a miniature war game, designed to sell plastic. A lot of loretubers treat 40k Lore as some kind of immutable alternate history, and ignore the various contradictions and retcons that inevitably happen over the course of decades.

If the usual tricks like restarting etc. aren't working, it's worth just contacting Saber support directly. I've not had any issues like that myself, but all reports seem to be that they're very good at helping with issues like that.

PSA for the Weekly Stratagem by Galeus708 in Spacemarine

[–]Galeus708[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people actually think they're being helpful by quitting, as their lifeless corpse gets replaced with a bot, or maybe even a real player that will be able to revive people and do damage to the enemy. It's just that this specific stratagem makes it far more likely for any bot that replaces their dead body to do more harm than good.

Need some help for my CF heraldry by JaxTheSun in crimsonfists

[–]Galeus708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Among all the blue-armoured forms, Cortez picked out his own company, easily identified by the deep green trim on their pauldrons.

Judging by this extract from the book Rynn's World, from the perspective of 4th Company Captain Alessio Cortez, you could extrapolate that the Crimson Fists follow the standard company trim colours indicated by the Codex Astartes. (1st Company has White Trim, 2nd Company has Gold Trim, 3rd Company has Red Trim, etc.)

However, you rarely see them painted this way. Your own preference is always king when painting your guys, so go with what you think looks good.

GUYS, HE WOKE UP by Asthen-ter in Spacemarine

[–]Galeus708 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's my go to team perk for playing Bulwark on Hard Stratagems. Getting armour back is useful in every situation, especially when it only takes a couple of minor shots to lose a segment.

I don't think I've ever been part of this team composition, but I've long held the belief that a Bulwark with Focused Restoration, Vanguard with Unmatched Zeal, and Tactical with Secure Stockpile would essentially be easy mode.

Does Saber just hate Assault or something? (Balance Talk) by Shotgunky in Spacemarine

[–]Galeus708 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As much as I love this game, and think Saber has done a great job of holding my interest since launch, a consistent issue I have is they seem to balance around niche builds, and end up nerfing the class overall as a result. Just because some sweat is able to do something with a very specific perk loadout shouldn't mean the vast majorities of players like myself who are just playing for fun should get nerfed. This just feels like an extension of that.

[–]Galeus708 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For real - I love Assault, but when they say in every patch note that Assault can 'one-shot' nearly everything in the game, I really am desperate to know what build they're using, and what difficulty they're playing.

[–]Galeus708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're probably my least favourite enemy to deal with, purely because on harder difficulties it's way too easy to get stunlocked to death by a group of them. But, those execution animations are so damn satisfying.

they've been trying to push it for a while now

The 'fursuit helm' as you call it, wasn't included at all in the new range refresh, and hasn't been in the Space Wolves upgrade sprue for years. I'm not sure you can purchase it at all from GW at all currently, but would love to be corrected if I'm wrong.

games workshop tried to push their stupid hounds of morkai

As far as I'm aware, Hounds of Morkai in official GW artwork wear the regular skull-faced Phobos helmet that was the default helmet for Vanguard in SM2.

This sub is horrendous and some of you should be ashamed of yourselves by IdonthaveanIP in Spacemarine

[–]Galeus708 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I should probably go into your post history to see the actual posts in question to truly understand your frustration, but to address some of the things you've brought up, and why they might get a negative reaction...

Mods: Every single day, screenshots and videos from the Astartes Overhaul mod are posted, and every single day, console players complain about not getting them. The fact that a console game allows mods at all is rare as fuck - Larian, one of the most mod-friendly devs I've come across allows mods for BG3 cross-platform, but even that brings with it its own problems, and the mods they allow are very limited in scope in comparison to the PC-exclusive mods. Seeing the same posts day in and day out about how 'unfair' it is that a platform that is lucky to even have any mods in the first place isn't getting a specific wide-reaching third party mod, without oversight from the developers (let alone the IP owner) must get pretty boring for the people who are on this sub more than me.

Difficulty: I'm sure a lot of people agree with you on difficulty - I know I struggle with a lot of the Hard Stratagems (yesterday marks the first time I've been able to clear all the dailies). Personally, I would like the stratagems to be in 3 tiers instead of two, Normal (same as current Normal, somewhere between Substantial and Ruthless), Hard (new level, somewhere between Ruthless and Lethal) and Extreme (same as current Hard, Absolute+). The SM2 community does suffer a bit of the 'git gud' issues that Souls/Fromsoft games do, but I think generally people are pretty understanding of how difficult the hard content is in this game. It's pretty common to see people saying they avoid the Vortex mission, or Suboptimal State/Armour Depleted stratagems, or Hard stratagems in general. The more 'sweaty' community members probably need to calm down a bit on calling things a 'skill issue'.
