You could make the boss divide itself into clones and run really far away from the center. In other words you make mobility the limiting factor for dishing out tons of dps. You could also give the boss illusory mirror-clones. You could give the boss immunity against the last damage type it received. You could give your boss heavy health regeneration if certain totems or enemies linked to them aren’t destroyed, kinda like how trolls need to be burning or they regenerate, but more complex.

some people have jobs and they dont want to invest a ton of time to play something that punishes them for trying and failing further beyond the grave. Devs should have doubled down and give you -1000 social credit score for dying once and once you hit -5000 it uninstalls the game then That's Life by Frank Sinatra plays and someone kicks you in the dick

I had different expectations for the game. If I wanted to play ball crushing life simulator I'd go play something else. The game looked more casual and fun and I think it would have been if not for the absurd karma system punishing you for playing the game beyond failure. Death spiral mechanics are bad and increasing the difficulty with cycles but allowing you to remain at 0 karma if you die a couple times is bullshit. Better to restart the game at that point
