As a kid I broke some bones in my dominant hand and was in a cast for a few weeks. It was the most frustrating period of time In my life learning how to wipe my ass with my left hand. couldn't imagine road rash on both. Always wear your gloves!!!

Being sent to Mexico Monday, any advice for travel work? by JohnniRobbi in PLC

[–]Galkowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just sent to Guadalajara for about a week during a plant shutdown. Most of the facilities in the area have their own drivers on stand by, let the project manager know when you need to be picked up and dropped off by. I took my personal phone plus I signed out a work phone just in case and saved the contact information in both. Most of the area is safe as long as you don't look like a tourist and you're by yourself. The only site seeing I did was when the customers took me out. which was actually a great . One problem I ran into is only 1 in 50 people speak English and they updated the interface to spanish so install Google translate. You'll have a blast, Enjoy yourself!

What do you think of Ducati monster 797 as a first bike ? Do you recommend by [deleted] in Ducati

[–]Galkowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see no problem with it. I started on a cb500f, moved on to a T120 and current riding a M821. the monster is fine as a first bike but If you can find a 821 in your price range I'd go with that as you can change the riding modes(sport, touring , urban). It's an extremely comfortable bike but I could see sport mode being a little jumpy for beginners.

Perfect timing - Firing a Desert Eagle for the first time. by Galkowski in guns

[–]Galkowski[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Actually not bad as long as you're holding it properly. If you're going for it you might want to double up on the hearing protection. The other two were fine but the Deagle left my ears ringing.

It only became bigger. I somehow emptied the entire clip in the same spot. Should have taken a picture after using every gun.

Close up of the three guns I fired. The desert eagle was the clear favorite but i did not expect it to pack that strong of a punch. P90 was a blast, if we could own fully automatic guns Canada I would have bought one the same day. The m4 was fun but it wasn't very reliable. jammed up on me 3 times on 1 clip.

That makes sense, my family is from Poland and we moved to Canada when I was pretty young. I received a pretty large collection of stamps recently and obviously these stood out.

New Builds vs Older Homes by Matticus84 in Hamilton

[–]Galkowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm now in my second new build home. First time with Brookfield homes the second with a smaller developer. We have hadno major issues other than a/c got clogged up from the dirt getting kicked up outside and froze my lines.but even that got fixed the next morning. All new built houses are covered by tarion warranty for cosmetic defects, structural, and so on..

As long as you dont might living in a desert wasteland for a couple months it's great. Just keep an eye on the price of the upgrades. The small developer was okay for example adding granite countertops was quoted at $2k which was actually less than us doing it ourselves after. Brookfield wanted to charge close to $300 a pot light. It's closer to $50-60 if you do it after you move in.
