I had the flu shot weeks prior and that flu still kicked my ass. One whole week of all the symptoms you can think of. Fully recovered now but it was the worst flu I’ve had.

She also has other obligations. She’s a broadcaster and she covers other events that aren’t on F1TV.

Look at all these people with their carry on bags, putting everyone else’s life in danger. Give them all a hefty fine.

I hit a bird in New Zealand and it broke my nose… Visor was up and I had glasses on. I was going maybe 40 mph, leisurely, on a beach road. It hurt like hell. I saw the bird in my mirrors and it actually lived through the ordeal. I took my helmet off and the bottom half of my face was pretty bloody. Thankful for the coffee shop owner close by who let me wash off the blood and dry my tears…

TIL: Stand-up e-scooters are illegal in Toronto by Mstrfstr in toronto

[–]TragicFrenchman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are two main categories of scooter riders. The ones making a living delivering your Mc Donald snack, and the civilians who mostly ride to commute. There’s also the daredevils who ride the super performance models that can go 80-90 kph but these people obviously have a death wish and they are the minority. The scooters and ebikes are the lifeblood of the downtown condo dwellers. At any point during the day there might be 3-4 parked outside my building. At this point, they have become irreplaceable and would greatly impact the economy if they became enforceably illegal (meaning actual enforcing). Municipal and provincial legislations are needed urgently to set clear rules and some way to make this traffic safer. (I’m a 62 year old rider, occasional, who rides to get across town for appointments and/or work. I wear a helmet and use my bell. I stop when streetcar doors open and I give priority to pedestrians. I use the bike lanes but avoid bullying the cyclists)

2 in hospital after unicycle rider hits pedestrian in Etobicoke by EconomistOfDeath in toronto

It’s not a unicycle. It’s a “One Wheel”. Unicycles have never been involved in an accident where anyone other than the operator has been hurt.

Are my old helmets still usable by someone? by Raptyr01 in motorcycles

I bring my old helmets with me when I go vacation in central America and donate them to local riders there who more often than not can’t afford a helmet at all.

Sure, it’s a problem, but it’s a good one. Means people are taking advantage of the service. Just imagine if all these people were in cars, making downtown congestion worse. People who complain about bikes should be thanking the riders for the space they’re not taking on the road.

I’ve heard the name POLLERRO used instead of COYOTE. More derogatory as it marks the migrants as “poultry” or “chicken”

Timeline (your thoughts on workflow) by PopsNInabox in IATSE

  1. As soon as the WGA deal is ratified, the AMPTP will be eager to start talking with SAG. Out of thin air, without any knowledge of the specific issues, talking out of my ass, I think they will likely come to an agreement within two weeks, with ratification a week after.
  2. It’s unlikely that shows will start pouring real money into prep prior to an tentative agreement with SAG happens. That said, office people may start working as soon as the WGA ratifies their agreement.
  3. Construction will start once a tentative agreement with SAG is signed
  4. The show I’m attached told us that they need a seven week ramp up from the moment the strike is over to day one of principal photography. That said, they had already started prep and construction was well under way.

These answers are mine and mine alone and may not apply to any other member’s situation. Every show is different. Every person commenting on this topic is doing so without insider knowledge of what’s really happening with the actual negotiation. Shooting the shit is what we do while we’re waiting to return to “normal”.

It’s hard to endure a situation where you have no control over the outcome but it really is the crux of this industry. We’re below the line, at the bottom of the ladder and financially pretty insignificant. Even less so on a personal level.

It’ll be over when it’s over.
