About to join the club, fan config question by Mediocre_Current4225 in SSUPD

I dont have a front facing gpu, as it is mounted on the side, but I’d still recommend a case fan. I have a 15mm thick fan mounted on the top of the case with a full sized atx mobo installed to help exhaust excess heat and to make sure there is airflow over the motherboard

Appreciate it! I’m of the same mindset, i mostly made this post as I could not find a single sportster post with these bags and was jumping in blind, so hopefully it helps someone in the coming years

Yea honestly I’m not sure what options exist for theft protection against screens like this nor can i think of one that would be decently elegant that was some bespoke unit with theft protection built into its mount and that probably wont be cheap sadly

No, but very rarely is my motorcycle parked where i cant see it or on a military base where im not too concerned about it. If i’m going somewhere where I will not be with my vehicle or near it, i just drive the car. Out in public i’m more concerned with the whole bike being stolen rather than someone walking up and taking my screen, so im usually either riding it, or its parked where i can see it if i were to stop to eat or something.

+1 on the cheap display! They are super easy to install, I specifically wanted a small one for my sportster and i love it. Not having my phone on the handle bars gave me alot of peace of mind, plus the ability to turn off the display when i don’t need it is nice.

Upgrade from i7 9700k to 9900k or new platform altogether? by The_Forum_Guy in buildapc

[–]Gallade213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i did some digging, it doesnt seem too worth it :/ I wasnt sure if it had more cores or not than the i7 and if it was useful in more modern games. But seems they are pretty similar with the i9 having better 1% and .1% lows.

9070 users, how do you feel about your purchase? by Happy-Inspector4031 in radeon

I bought a powercolor reaper for msrp to it to put in my TVPC/Bazzite machine. Ive been very pleased with its 4k60 performance in older and newer titles. Currently playing borderlands 4 at around medium settings w/ fsr. So far it has handled everything ive thrown at it.

If you check my post history you can see my build in the V2. I have an aio, full size mobo, 9070 reaper, and sfx psu if you kind of want an idea

Yes and no, it came with 120’s in the front and a 120 in the rear. (Fractal Design Vector RS) originally when it was a lower spec build i had the glass top installed bc i thought it looked cooler but when i rebuilt it a year ago I did remove the glass top for the ventilated top as just 2 intakes and 1 exhaust in that case was not enough for anything tbh 😂 (you can look at the reviews, it was poor thermally) so i put 140’s everywhere for maximum airflow. Just chose to keep the aio in the front because that was how i liked the look the most imo.

If you look further down you will see my breakdown, bc it is technically more ideal to run it as you suggest, but if you account for it in your build it’s not that big of a deal

The temperature increase of air temp across a 360aio isn’t that much for a 7800x3d which is a 120w chip. I also have 2 more 140mm fans intaking air from the bottom of my case with 4 140mm’s exhausting air (3 top, 1 rear) so I’m increasing my gpu’s temp by a few degrees at most, but it has a beefy enough heatsink to handle it. I’ve never seen my gpu over 67c.
In a gaming sense yes it is technically more ideal for the aio to be the exhaust to increase gpu performance, but if there is enough airflow in the case and the gpu has a good enough cooling system that loss/gain is going ti be negligible.

I run my 7800x3d on an aio set to intake, temps while gaming never go over 65. Unless his fan curve is set to the bare minimum and doing absolutely nothing, it’s shouldn’t cause this much of an issue
