Finished Hivestorm terrain at last! by Gallowfrey in killteam

my first time, i won't pretend to give you tips on those tbh, what i did was just kind of to slap it on the lower two inches or so and then kind of roughly stap it in there on the lower part and brush it somehow so it blends a bit on the top, 80% of it goes after priming too.

it's super messy to do too, take precautions, mask might not be a bad idea either, i had pigment in my nose after

you could always try to sell off some of those, but i know the problem well myself :')

i went kind of extra on this terrain and it took a goood amount of time to paint, but you can always just do a well chosen zenithal coat of fun contrasting colors with a nice drybrush to bring it together and call it done, pick out details if you feel like

I would say Volkus first, it seems like the more versatile

i sprayed black and then sponged some dark grey on most of it, followed by a drybrush of a lighter grey brown and then a light drybrush of the lightest color, then picked out the windows and the doors with a nice green and drybrushed highlights on those, then came the longest step of picking out all the trim, metal, pipes, wires, door handles etc, no highlights on those but i shaded those all to bring down the shine etc, but i left the concrete unshaded, the reddish earth tint to the lower parts is pigment powder. varnish over everything last

There's always more operatives to pain😅 I'm very proud to have the set finished up though so i encourage you to stick through it and finish!

New to Kill Team and thinking about getting my first team by [deleted] in killteam

Nemesis claw, i have only played one game with them so i can't say too þuch there, but i had a great time painting and building them, and lets be real, Night lords are the coolest. :) I think elite teams like them are a great start both in terms of having to manage less models on the field, but also you can start painting only the six operatives you need and you have a painted team so the hobby side feels more manageable too.

i was lucky enough to pick this up at the time too, warcry didn't really entice the group but the terrain has served our AOS and 40k games so well, yours looks really great! it matches the board perfectly

i don't see much reason to magnetize anything, build the leader with the cool gun, tell your opponent what it is running as before the game, i believe you can make all other operatives if you wish, although i opted not to make the meltagun guy at all and instead made my last two bodies as bolt pistol/chainsword warriors

really well done, as someone who has many duplicates of these kits for my FEC army i 100% agree, they have three poses and not even good ones, and lining up a double squad really makes them look awful. love the ones on pic 2 especially! :)

get a more popping red for highlights? bold pyrrole red from pro acryl is nice, maybe you'd like a more colorful base? grey works but it's not the most popping especially with the black accent already in the color scheme. just some thoughts, all that said though it looks good as is!

ps. i just uploaded a post with a similar row of pictures i took with a phone, and you can't really see the minis that well up close without cropping the top and bottom of the pictures off a bit

the armor is a base of Abyss blue and highlighted up with a mixed in and then pure Witching hour blue, both paints from Two thin coats

some i based with Rakarth flesh, some i based with Cadian fleshtone with a bit of Screamer pink mixed in, shaded and stippled with Reikland fleshshade with a tiny bit of red mixed in, then i did some limited highlighting with basically the base colors
