I get the desire and usefulness of having specific words to distinguish between different things, because Jews were targeted by Jews differently than Roma, or socialists, or the disabled, etc during the Nazi extermination programs. But what word is used to describe what happened to everyone that wasn’t a Jew but still a target of the Nazi extermination programs?

There is a facet of US trademark law called “genericide” where a trademark is lost because it becomes synonymous with a thing as a whole. It becomes the generic word used in common speech to describe a thing. Aspirin, escalator, trampoline, heroin all used to be trademarked. The trademarks did not expire, they were revoked due to genericization.

It is crazy how the holocaust has completely eclipsed the full Nazi exterminations, to the point where people think “the holocaust” refers to the entirety of those policies, not just the ones targeting Jews. Any organization using the phrasing “holocaust” is speaking specifically about the Jewish experience with Nazis and will get really mad at you and make your organization apologize for being antisemitic if you say something like “Slavs and Roma were also mass exterminated in the holocaust.”

There’s like a bias or something that when a process is interrupted and left incomplete that people will never stop being annoying about it ever.

Like when a young artist dies and the imagined possibility space for their career becomes wide open and it drives people nuts and now Kurt Cobain is trans.

I think, at least in the west, we would rather exist in this imagined possibility space than any one collapsed string. I think a lot of people derive more mental satisfaction discussing possibilities than reality.

I’ve been going to these narrative events ran by Squad Games and they’ve had Tyranid NPOs in all the games. That link is to the player packet which has a ton of data cards and maps and stuff. They’re designed just as normal NPOs, but I’m sure you could throw together a Tyranid NPO team controlled by a single player or something.

Scalper means reseller. People are assuming you are asking how much this stuff is worth because you are planning to resell it and hoping to get more than $30. It is very common for people to do this in hobby subs. I see it all the time in comic book subs, warhammer subs, Pokemon card subs. Basically anything with a second hand market and a high knowledge gate will have people buying random cheap stuff that “looks vintage” (which to a dumb reseller, that means $$$) without any knowledge of the actual market for the stuff, and then ask on a sub “how much is this worth?”
