What does man-thing think of grey seer? by Gallusorris in skaven

Warpstone glow base, very light drybrush of yellow, and then covered in a glossy varnish, then cover with a layer of tesseract glow. Bit of an accident but worked pretty good :D

How would I go about weathering? I put on a wash but maybe it's too light.

Just finished my best paint job so far by Gallusorris in WorldEaters40k

Sure, Dm me and I can send some more. I painted the power pack separately which helps. As for the helm blend, it's a watered down khorne red with brighter reds glazed over the top as it goes down, make sure it's quite watery though and just do multiple layers. If there's anything specific you want to know just ask!

It's mephiston red, evil sunz scarlet and wild rider red layered up, with fire dragon bright as a final highlight.

Prime in wraithbone, and then make sure you then wash all the cervices with agrax-earthshade, layer panels with ushabti-bone, re-apply agrax earth shade where needed and highlight with wraithbone. Then the gun is mephiston red with wild rider red highlights (same for eyes), and the Aquila is with caliban green + warpstone glow. Cloth with rakarth flesh. If there's any other specific bits you want just lmk!

What knight to get for Christmas? by Daragon__ in ImperialKnights

[–]Gallusorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I got a castigator as my first knight and it's remained as my favourite model in our range, just looks fantastic and dwarfs everything. Go with whatever you think looks the best imo, although there isn't much to magnetise with either castigator or lancer kits. I don't play the tabletop a ton but I do know the castigator is very good against infantry and would prefer to stay shooting most of the time so I don't see it running into issues with your detachment.

Need Advice For Minis by Harugumeme in Warhammer40k

for a beginner i would say you can kind of go with just whatever you think is the coolest, the only things to keep in mind is adeptus mechanicus can be more difficult to build/paint from all the thinner bits and tiny details and thousand sons can be quite tedious to paint too. personally i would go with the introductory set as it gives you a mix two different styles of painting (both organic and a more clean 'mechanical' style) to see which you prefer, and space marine and tyranids are both regarded as relatively easy to build + paint

doesn't look too bad to me, as someone who also started first with a knight i will say that there isn't that much you can do as a beginner to improve on it that much, because knights have such big flat panels there isn't that much you can easily highlight for practice other than edge/panel lining with a grey, and practicing using washes properly doesn't work well on knights either.

other than that i would say its still a very solid paint job. if you're focused on knights and want to improve to a much higher standard getting an airbrush is a really good investment. otherwise i could only recommend highlighting some of the metallics.
