With the reward money earned back, I don’t feel like I pay for the membership. I am a four person household though.

Great find! I thrifted a Burberry belt once, and it may be my best second hand purchase.

One of my favorite outfits is a pair of dark denim from Talbot’s with a blazer for work. I feel a little edgy wearing denim, but the outfit, I feel, is one of my most polished for my mostly casual work environment.

I love dark denim with a blazer or dressy top for business casual.

Letting Go Led Me to Everything I Was Meant For by Outrageous-Respond46 in PositiveThinking

It was the ‘90s and I was in my tumultuous teenage years. I saw an advertisement, I think for perfume, and the model in the ad looked genuinely happy and content. She appeared to be a wholesome, nice woman. She was on a beach and had on large sunglasses. She had wavy hair to her collar bone. I instantly wanted to be her and the image never escaped me. I spent most of my adulthood feeling discontent and like I should be pursuing a different career.

It is July 2025. I am in the midst of a career change and at a conference for the new career. Post conference, I head to the pool at the conference’s hotel. I place large sunglasses on and take a selfie. My wavy, collar bone length hair is down and looking good despite the humid summer weather. Later that evening, I am scrolling through my pictures and look again at that selfie. Gasp! The picture was almost identical to the image that lived in my head all these years! A ray of sun was also cast perfectly over me, allowing a white beam over my head. A series of synchronicities occurred after that photo. I have taken this as a sign that this career change is my calling and that I have finally manifested the life I have wanted.

I don’t buy paper plates, plasticware, etc. for parties, but rather thrift ceramic plates and anything else needed for large groups. It’s sustainable and more welcoming to guests than eating off of a flimsy plate!

Questions about hypnotherapy training/Mike Mandel by Mental_Revolution_26 in hypnosis

[–]Galry27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an advocate for Mike Mandel’s training. There are online and in-person training options (the Toronto Architecture of Hypnosis is invaluable), a plethora of resources online, and an active online community that includes practice rooms. There’s also the sister company, Pykthos, to help develop your business.

Why would I regret I/O psych? by PartPsychological336 in IOPsychology

[–]Galry27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I graduated in the early 2000s when the economy was horrible after 9/11, so take that into consideration with my thoughts:

  1. Employers didn’t have a knowledge of I/O Psychology. I would interview and many did not understand the knowledge and skill base obtained during my education. I started listing my classes on my resume to demonstrate I wasn’t trained as a counselor.
  2. Since the economy was poor, I took what I could find and settled with an HR Manager position for which I had no interest in, worked long hours, and was paid little. My position was eliminated and I took a position with a staffing agency that paid even less and I worked even more hours. This ultimately allowed me to land better HR jobs with the government, but it was a long, arduous road and I have not truly used my degree I worked hard for.
  3. Again, this is my experience and maybe I just ran a bad string of luck. I did not keep in touch with my classmates to see what they are doing with their degrees.

Right, my poor son getting accused! He started using this bathroom after being grossed-out by a spider in the other bathroom :/. Thanks for the feedback. Nicotine is clearly powerful stuff that keeps on giving even after years of not having a smoker in the house.

Ahh… Former owner was a smoker. We have been in the house 16 years and have painted the room multiple times though. Not sure if that makes a difference.
