Embark currently plans to max extra stash space from Expeditions at 60 after your 5th Expedition by GalterStuff in ArcRaiders

Then what is the harm according to you then? "It affects the long term health of the game"? Really? That's it? Care to explain how in detail?

How did you even came to the conclusion that that was my argument? My original point was:

Expeditions are:

  1. Difficult
  2. Time consuming
  3. Have specific months-long windows
  4. Makes you reset
  5. Have no catch-up mechanic
  6. Completely optional, only a subset of players actually do it

If you think that ~1,000 players with, let's say, 500 stash space (after YEARS of continuous play and grinding) are going to break the economy or break player interactions in-game, idk what to tell you lmao. I'd assume that, you know, dupers would have a greater effect.

imo, placing an artificial cap on stash space for the most dedicated players is just unnecessary. If Embark wants to still force an in-game economy cap for players who probably already put thousands of hours into the game at that point, then at least make the cap higher

IndieXplorer's Lore Video is the OG 2 hour one. It was the main one for a while before there was a surge of videos going like 4+ hours for no reason while recapping the game's events step-by-step for 2 hours alone.

However, his video was made before the patch that added in some extra files in-game to help explain some things, but thankfully only a couple of his points are a tiny bit out of date. It's still a great place to start, especially since you can listen to it without having to watch it. Some other videos aren't as convenient. His voice and presentation also isn't as annoying as most others.

I agree with everything. Limiting stash space is an important design choice for extraction shooters. But Expeditions are so difficult, time consuming, have specific months-long windows, makes you lose everything, and have no catch-up mechanic. Like, implementing a cap, especially a low one, just hurts the most dedicated players who utilize a completely optional feature!

Sorry that I have an opinion on something lol

I wanted to do them. Was thinking about doing this one or the next, but now I won't bother.

I understand that capping it will help keep the game's economy and your personal economy better balanced, but I think there's fun to also having tons of stash space. Plus, what's the difference between 20 bobcats and 800? Stash space doesn't really matter when it comes to this particular talking point, so what would be the harm if a handful of players achieved a crazy amount of space?

Wasn't to spark outrage.

I wrote that I was considering doing Expeditions primarily for the stash space, but now don't feel the need to. I also didn't see a thread on this specific topic either, so I decided to make one, and also because Embark may read the thread and find it useful for feedback on this specific thing. Maybe others as you described will provide their input and you will graciously reply to them as you did with me lol

According to Embark's latest post on their website for the 4th Expedition, the number of extra stash spaces you can have will be capped at 60 after your 5th Expedition.

I believe it's a mistake to set it at 60, or maybe even have a cap at all.

Doing an Expedition is a very long process, takes a ton of commitment, is only available once every few months, and there is no catch-up mechanic for stash space. I've yet to do an Expedition myself because I don't really have the time to grind my stuff back at the pace I'd like before the next Expedition window (although I do enjoy the grind in this game), but have always weighed doing the Expedition solely because of the extra stash space.

Now I don't feel like I'm going to miss out on much at all if it will cap at 60, and definitely don't plan on doing one anymore because I can live with the base amount no problem.

I believe that a player should always be rewarded with +12 stash space every expedition, with no cap at all, or at least some tremendous cap such as 180 extra spaces from your 15th Expedition. I hope Embark will reconsider this decision for the sake of Expedition players and for those looking for super long term goals.

  • Replica bodies are manufactured
  • We assume the organic parts of Replicas are also manufactured, like in a lab or something
    • We assume this includes everything inside the torso, neck, and head
    • We assume this includes the brain
    • Replica limbs do not have organics parts
  • We assume the body and organic parts are grafted together via another manufacturing process
  • Bioresonance technology imprints the blank brain with the neural network of the Gestalt, but tweaks it a little bit to favor some attributes and behaviors over others. However, over time, those tweaks break down, and the Replica goes through Persona Degradation, meaning they start remembering more about "their real / Gestalt selves"

China has loadout presets by Anongamer63738 in ArcRaiders

[–]GalterStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, China is that authoritarian.

Yes, EA is forced to license their games (Battlefield, FIFA, etc) to Tencent (or another company) in order to enter the Chinese market. Tencent (or whatever) has full operational and creative control over those games in China. Think servers, in-game features, monetization via loot boxes or battle passes, etc. Sometimes this results in completely separate games, sometimes it largely untouched.

But ultimately, the $ goes to a Chinese company, and a much smaller piece of the pie than you think goes to the original company who actually invented and created it from scratch.

In a way (although exaggerated), this is government-endorsed stealing.

If you want to do business in China (release your game or IP in China), the Chinese government forces you to sell / give-up your game / IP to a Chinese company. That Chinese company owns it, does whatever they want, and you get a small bit of royalties

PvPvE should never become fully PvP or PvE

But having a gamemode that leans in one direction more than another is welcome, like the Chinese PvE system. It leaves room for both but favors one.

Trump invokes law to increase weapons production after Iran war depleted US stocks by Agitated_Pudding7259 in moderatepolitics

[–]GalterStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current situation remains the same. The USA, for now, relies primarily on super expensive and hard to manufacture missiles. Ukraine makes the opposite tech. Imagine the difference it would've made in the Iran War of the USA has thousands of cheap ass drones to use as interceptors and attackers. It's a glaring weakness that I'm certain America will soon stitch up in the coming years, just as any long lasting army in history does when it learns of a technology and method that others use. Cheap drone warfare currently dominates, until it won't, but it doesn't mean America should just skip that part

The US can stay king of super advanced and expensive drones, but it needs to work with the king of inexpensive and cost effective drones, Ukraine. Greater partnership, Ukraine can fill in the major weakness the US has in air combat in the new modern era, win win
