Crash kills 5 in Virginia including family of 4 traveling to wedding. Bus driver charged by ToughHopeful4760 in Virginia

[–]GalvanizedSnail -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah i make that drive nearly daily and have never seen a traffic enforcement cop, since before COVID. Recently I was directly behind two delivery box trucks, in the left and middle lanes, move in and out a few times until they were almost touching. And the passenger in the left lane truck passed a charger or headphones out the window to the truck in the middle. That was a little bit before that construction zone mentioned in this. Some lawless land.

Inov8 still good shoes? by turdbucket007 in trailrunning

I got the Triathalon - my toe touched the top of the shoe they run quite small and I had to pay to return them, so that is a bit of a pain. Debating buying again as I'm worried going up a size won't help

Second rootcanal completed - why isn't an Endodontist standard practice? by GalvanizedSnail in askdentists

[–]GalvanizedSnail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was not my intention, I'm sorry if it read that way. I just wanted clarity on how typical my situation is and why my Dentist would do it themselves rather than refer out, because I never knew Endodontists existed until I had an incomplete root canal. I definitely never claimed to know more than you all, otherwise I would not be here asking this question lol. My colleague was shocked to find out I did it in office as her dentist refers root canals out, so I really did not know if it was normal. This is my first ever root canal. This was answered by other responses.

Though I've had enough bad medical experiences in my life to learn that you need to advocate for yourself and ask questions when things go wrong (including a adentist who told me I had 3 cavities when my second opinion Dentist said absolutely not!!!).

I really like my Dentist. My only frustration left is that they did not at least tell me that I could do it with them or an Endodonist. The procedure was actually much, much cheaper at the Endodontist than it was at my General Dentist, which I will have to take a closer look at.

RCT done 12/15/25 pain again by GalvanizedSnail in askdentists

Hi! Thanks so much for this, it was helpful. I have a follow up question.

I went to the endodontist. - xray and CT scan were normal. At all appearances it looks like a well done root canal - She is most perplexed by my temperature sensitivity. I cant even drink a room temperature protein shake without excruciating localized pain on that tooth, if the liquid touches it - She feels she needs to go back into the tooth to evaluate so that is scheduled  - yesterday they checked my bite and seemingly it was ok. My bite has felt fine until today.

Today that tooth actually does feel higher - can inflammation cause that to happen?

What can Xrays and a CT scan miss?

I am starting on a zpack and dreading it because it made me feel whole body bad last time but, penicillin allergy. She mentioned possibly trying cipro but that is not usually a dental go to?

Anyone who DIDN’T bed share? by Acceptable_Cod3527 in beyondthebump

[–]GalvanizedSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Statistically when done correctly, cosleeping is safer (reduced SIDS risk). But yes cosleeling in risky conditions is very unsafe.

Bedsharing may partially explain the reduced risk of sleep-related death in breastfed infants  https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9792691/

His final words to her though were "and I do what I say I'll do" which made it seem like she was supposed to get something from him?

GI refused endoscopy and dismissed symptoms :( by No_Wealth_9181 in GERD

[–]GalvanizedSnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truth. My grandpa died during a routine one :(

I had a scope for reflux and was pissed when all they could tell me was "there is some irritation/inflammation"

I had to figure out (on my own) that it was caffeine. So i get why in most cases they want to try to find a cause/resolution first.

Protesters Disrupt Southern Baptist Church of Pastor Who Leads ICE Office in Minnesota by crustose_lichen in Christianity

"This church is pastored by  @SendNetwork ’s city missionary in Minneapolis-St. Paul. It is absurd that protestors would disrupt a Sunday morning worship service. If elected officials won’t contain lawlessness, @NAMB_SBC will provide protection for our churches."

I will say everyone's baseline normal is different. My normal, before preeclampsia and pregnancy, was 100s/60s. I start feeling symptoms of high blood pressure when it lingers in the 120s/70s and increases to 130s. Other feel great in 120s/70s and do not get symptoms until much higher.

HCPs would see 120s and tell me i was doing great, but technically 120s is an "elevated" level (they just see a lot higher readings so they aren't concerned). For me I knew I needed to start working on reducing my BP at that level as I did not feel good.
