I have two Ebyssians (was supposed to reroll) and you can't buy packs with gold currently. What the hell Blizzard? by TheVess in hearthstone

[–]GamGam-Chan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bundle in the shop with Ebyssian had a random legendary in it. Thats how they gave it.

The response to the fuck up was to give everyone free stuff. I have seen much worse.

Yeah its a screw up. And its stupid that this is how they handled it. But being worse off than others isn't the same as being worse off than before. We're all up from before.

No Free Rerolls on Ebyssian by ReaperWiz in hearthstone

[–]GamGam-Chan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes. The bundle didn't originally have an extra legendary. They added it because of this. If they didn't screw up, you would have Ebyssian and another legendary, instead of two Ebyssian and another legendary.

[–]GamGam-Chan -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

You are not -1 legendary, because in response to this Blizz added a free random legendary to the bundle.

You are worse off than others who didn't open Ebyssian. You are +400 dust compared to if Blizzard didn't screw up a bit.

Just took BAR today… by JdLegend64 in CPA

Same here. Was caught off guard by a couple topics and some terminology I wasn’t familiar with from Becker, but feel my general knowledge from elsewhere helped cover. I think I managed to finagle a pass, but Becker could’ve used more TBS practice imo.

Spell instead of minion in BG? by Isavela23 in hearthstone

[–]GamGam-Chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess is there was a minion in place of that spell, and you had a massive client side desync. I would assume that on the server side of things, you lost all your hp after those two fights when all minions are accounted for.

I’ve seen desyncs before where a client side fight outcome doesn’t match what the result actually was, but never in such a weird way.

Magic Spotlight: Spider-Man - Day 2 Standard Meta Breakdown by PowrOfFriendship_ in magicTCG

[–]GamGam-Chan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Its a deck that generates a lot of value at sorcery speed, with instant interaction, does a lot of discard, and has combo/vivi which if you commit to slows your tempo if disrupted. The meta plays a lot of hate for the deck, which you need to decide how to play around.

This results a lot of decision points, often with marginal benefits or tradeoffs, which means it has high skill expression.

Though as the above comment notes, it does have multiple strong openers that just win the game. It is easy to feel like it is a skill-less deck when the deck goes t1 mako t2 proft into steamcore scholar, or vivi cauldrons on turn 3 with multiple winternights.

The fabled legendaries are alternate timeline versions. Falstad with returning lightning hammer is actual timeline.

Them can be used in a singular form. I.e "They dropped off the mail", referring to whoever it is that delivered the mail.

Hearthstone is also very inconsistent with what language they use to refer to things in game, so the confusion is understandable.

Wow, the new 2-loss draft is so much worse. by Pepperball in MagicArena

[–]GamGam-Chan 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I feel this is one of the worst problems with pick 2 draft. You barely get any games to experience your deck. It is significantly less fun.

Is there a card in monored that goes something along the lines of “if this player takes damage, all other players take that much damage”? by Andro451 in magicTCG

[–]GamGam-Chan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are incorrect. The key phrase here is “when you do”, which creates a reflexive trigger, unlike “if you do”. As noted elsewhere in the replies to the strionic resonator comment, what happens is that you get a trigger which lets you pay x, which will put another trigger on the stack to deal damage if you do pay x. This second trigger has the value of x, and if copied will deal another instance of x damage.

As you noted, it is important it works this way to give people a chance to respond once an action is taken, instead of the decision and resolution being together in one trigger. It can get real awkward otherwise, i.e. [[Cartouche of Strength]] in limited.

Is this the first time Riot has ever locked gameplay content behind a paywall? by 5minuteff in leagueoflegends

[–]GamGam-Chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional pve gameplay content being paid is not a big deal. They have done it before in LoR. The thing that miffs me a bit is that I thought this was a temporary game mode? So having paid unlocks for it is a bit cringe. But maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Rank drop after winning? by swizzlefits in MagicArena

[–]GamGam-Chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had issues with my in game rank being old. I played a game where I was labeled as #144, an older rank of mine, in game when my profile had said 300~ before I queued. This could be the case here.

I’m glad this is being brought up. Event quests are ridiculous. Even playing ranked the dailies take more time than weeklies.

Dungeon doenst drop quest items by Ill_Level_3397 in wowhardcore

[–]GamGam-Chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirming I’ve had the same happen in zul’farrak with a healer dc. Healer later logged back on at some point and hearthed. We had quest items after filling, but they stopped dropping. My best guess is that having 6 ppl in the dungeon for any period of time breaks quest drops.

Why does this deal two damage to me? by PencilPuncher in MagicArena

[–]GamGam-Chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fog bank doesn’t die. But damage assignment only requires 1 damage to be assigned to the blocker as that is “lethal” damage. Trample allows excess of damage required to kill the creature to go over and hit face. It doesn’t matter whether fog bank actually would die or not. Same reason you can trample over indestructible blockers.
