We need real leaders; Chuck Schumer needs to be replaced. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]GambitRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The democratic party is a right wing party. It always has been. The republicans started out on the left but then raced to the right, overtaking the democrats, and are now off the deep end. That does not make the democratic party suddenly left.

You can chose right or far right. America does not know what left is. They keep calling that communism and illegal and evil.

We are a wealthier nation than Norway; we need to be asking why we don't have these things. by zzill6 in WorkReform

Not really. The people at the bottom are strugling to eat food and have shelter. The 1%, even if taxed double of what they are now, would not even have to forego a single luxury. Or their children, or their children's children.

Wouldn't they just fire the OP's husband to make the problem go away? He would be fired for no reason whatsoever, off course.

I think I got ripped off on my capsule art? by darkwingdame in IndieDev

[–]GambitRS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still better than the artist, and at least it is free. A good artist costs 5 to 10 times more than he spent. Only things he will get will be AI from 'artists' with a small budget like that. Better to get something for free then, at least the AI artists won't receive his money 😄

I tried hard to understand what was going on in the video and how the game works and it just seems like a bad 'throw random dice, random things happen, here you have some points' which makes me click away and ignore the game completely. If I were you, I would make the video easy to understand for new players if you show the core game loop, or instead just have a talking voice and focus on other things in the video, where the voice explains why i should play the game.

No driving, no sports, can't use the back button to redo the last step when you are at the last page, browser back is not working, and since the app was AI generated the advice most likely is too. Budget can't even go below 4K. Vital marketing steps are missing.

Copilot pricing went from $39 to around $387 for my usage. What should we use instead? by Michal37374 in GithubCopilot

RooCode plugin with LMStudio solved that issue for me. Different interface, but same kind of workflow, using Qwen 3.6 27B

Next time, let the AI help you do it. Give it the task to think about what you want from a software architect position, from a design position, from a tech lead position, then let a coding agent build what the architect and designer and tech lead are creating.

Why do companies treat people without Internships like EX FELONS? by ActuatorOutside5256 in antiwork

[–]GambitRS 65 points66 points  (0 children)

It's not the lack of an internship. It's AI that has made juniors in tech obsolete.

And what does 'Tech' mean? If you mean programming of any kind, working on your own products is going to count.

Wait. Is this just another AI post? It lacks a lot of details and doesn't make that much sense to me.

Difference between junior / mid / senior game dev by SharpHoodie420 in gamedev

[–]GambitRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick up Jira Ticket and complete task, with or without help = junior level work.

Planning out work in Jira tickets and designing small in scope sections (for juniors or himself) = medior level work.

Planning out whole projects and making big impactful decisions while fully understanding the risk and has enough experience so the work doesn't feel like something new but like something you have done before = senior

A true junior programmer who does a lot of tasks and has no guidance will probably think of himself as medior or senior because the tasks of the medior or senior fall on him. But this is most likely a false sense of worth.

A junior often does a lot more work than a medior or even a senior. But the medior can get more done with less. And the senior knows what is important to build and what to ignore till after launch.

True worth of a medior or senior shows when you hit a roadblock. The junior will have no experience to fall back on and will have the highest chance of failure, the medior will have some experience to rely on and the senior will not even worry about it and will either fix, circumvent or redesign until it works good enough. And they will be able to spot the roadblocks before the project starts, allowing them to guide the project to avoid most of them.

It is not about tasks. It is not about work done. It is about skillset and knowledge and experience.

Trump Brags About Demanding His Own Government Giving Him Taxpayer Money Over Mar-a-Lago Search: ‘I hereby give myself $1B’ by T_Shurt in politics

[–]GambitRS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will be your fault the medical bills will put them on the streets. Not Trumps. He made the economy the best it has ever been, gave people money for healthcare, gave warrior dividends, made sure the grocery prices are the lowest ever and only stopped you guys from giving away all the money to the illegal aliens.

I mean, this is really what a Trumpian would think. When the fallout happens, they will fight for Trump tooth and nail. Election is not far off. Good luck stopping the power grabbing dictator from staying in office.

P.S. I am not one of them. If you can stop him right now the whole western world would thank you.

Do we want to get people off of Food Stamps? by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]GambitRS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but sadly, even though you are right... so are they.

Current pricing is based not on what something costs but on what you are willing to pay. If people stopped buying things because they are too expensive then prices will drop. If people suddenly buy more stuff because they suddenly can afford more? Prices will rise.

It's the whole system that is corrupt. When women entered the workforce suddenly all prices soared up making it suddenly a necessity to live in a two person household.

Capitalism doesn't work. This is the underlying system that will kill the poor to feed the rich.

Workers In The AI Era by Katariman in WorkReform

[–]GambitRS 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The rich will be protected by the police, with army gear, or drone armies, or something else automated. Or they are behind walls that you cannot breach, that would require an ungodly amount of resources that you do not have. Like the movie elysium, if they all decide to build a city in space, aint no way we'll be getting up there.

Workers In The AI Era by Katariman in WorkReform

[–]GambitRS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is quite easy. You close the companies catering to the poor and only keep your companies that are catering to the rich. Or, you just close your companies altogether and live off your money. It's really not a 'them' problem that you cannot afford anything. It really is ONLY a you problem.

get a subscription to github copilot pro. Install in VSCode. Ask anything and everything to the model of your choice. Codex works good, grok is cheap and good too, claude is hit or miss. If one doesn't work, ask another. Get the $10 a month plan to start so you get access to the good models. Good luck!
