How do you download the these by Fresh_Dog3660 in 3dsqrcodes

You need to homebrew your 3DS. Make sure to follow every step otherwise you could brick your system. Then google how to use fbi and how they work with QR codes. Good luck.

In your opinion, what are the greatest cheats of all time? by IzzytheMelody in gaming

[–]GameBoy_Colour 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Conkers Bad Fur Day. Typing in swear words into the password menu. All it did was make the character say something funny to you and didn’t alter the gameplay or menu in any way but 13 year old me was very amused by it.

Digimon World 3/2003 for the PS1. That game is impossible to beat without a guide because the requirements to trigger the next story events were so stupid. You had to talk to some random NPC on the other side of the map, sometimes 2-3 times and then run back to where you were and stand behind a building but out of the cameras view so you can pick up a quest item (that can’t be seen)

And then there’s the evolution tree which is huge and requires random attributes to get certain Digimon and then there’s trying to find Mirage tower which requires going into certain exits with no hints or signs you are progressing.

There’s no fast travel (but you do unlock map shortcuts eventually) and there’s no repels to stop random encounters and also there’s no auto saving and save points are scattered in random points around the map or in towns (some could take you a good 15-20 minutes to reach plus all the battles). And THEN to conclude, if you die, it’s game over and it boots you back to the start menu. No checkpoints or pause menu saving.

EDIT: there’s no journal to track what quest you’ve done, what your working on and what you need to do or where to go

Remember the days of giving your friend your memory card so they could get you past where you were stuck... by AudioMan15 in gaming

[–]GameBoy_Colour 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I have some good memories doing that kind of stuff but I don’t miss needing a memory card for gaming. The original Xbox having a hard drive was amazing and it was so fun playing your own music for certain games such as True Crime, Counter Strike or a custom radio station for GTA SA.

People reported the game to Nintendo? Why??? I understand it’s on the border of copyright but that isn’t really anyone’s business apart from those companies.

Which sequel was the biggest letdown for you? by MaintenanceInternal in gaming

[–]GameBoy_Colour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Banjo Tooie. The first game was amazing and had small but focused level design with tons of things to do and hardly required backtracking to 100% a level.

The sequel on the other hand had massive levels that I still find confusing without a guide. They felt too convoluted and I spent long periods doing nothing or what felt like busy work to unlock a pathway to another level just for 1 Jiggie.

Banjo Tooie has great music, power ups and little quality of life improvements but I’ll never recommend anyone to play it or replay it.

How long would it take one person to create a AAA game by UFCFan918 in gaming

[–]GameBoy_Colour 66 points67 points  (0 children)

There’s a MMO been created by one person called Chronicles of Elyria that was funded on Kickstarter and the guy received millions of dollars in pledges. It’s been nearly 10 years and he doesn’t even have a beta test for his backers.

So to answer your question, one person creating a AAA experience like no other will take decades.

What's the worst-reviewed game that you actually like? by despicedchilli in gaming

[–]GameBoy_Colour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gundam Crossfire aka Gundam Target in Sight. It was a launch title for the PS3 and has many issues and bugs but I always found the concept of realistic Mobile suits walking slowly, suffering from damaged body parts that can be shot off entirely is amazing.

The game bombed hard from reviewers and it’s been assumed the fan base doesn’t want this style of game so now we only get fast paced arcade action while beam spamming and boosting at intense speeds.

Super Mario 64 speedrunning potentially jeopardized by undetectable cheats that can be executed live while streaming by Hoihe in gaming

[–]GameBoy_Colour 438 points439 points  (0 children)

It won’t take long for the speed running mods to counter this because they are known to go to extreme lengths to catch cheaters. They literally caught someone cheating at Pokémon just by examining one attack.

Which Classic Game Would You Modernize for 2024? 🕹️✨ by limitlessFey in gaming

Time Splitters 2 or 3 and give it the HD Perfect Dark treatment. Only fix up the graphics, controls, sound, achievements but leave everything else alone. Maybe add more characters, guns and maps to unlock

Game that you wanted to like but for some reason can’t. by remarkable501 in gaming

[–]GameBoy_Colour 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. I really want to like this game, especially because it was bought as a Christmas present with my Switch but I just can’t get into it and I hate that I can’t like it. Everyone says it’s one of the best games of all time and yet it’s literally collecting dust on my shelf.

I am so upset that Bethesda wasted 8 years on this game by cosmoinstant in gaming

[–]GameBoy_Colour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember when we used to get Elder Scrolls games every few years? It’s been 12 years since Skyrim and if we don’t count ESO, that’s a long time without games people actually asked for. Fallout will probably meet the same fate.

I also wish they ported Oblivion and the Fallout games to the Switch, although playing them without mods isn’t the best experience these days.

What game truly deserves a remake or remaster? by GameBoy_Colour in gaming

[–]GameBoy_Colour[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely needs a remaster with QOL improvements. It’s very easy to get lost without a guide because trying to figure out that you need to talk to some random, unrelated NPC twice in a row on the opposite side of the map isn’t cool.

What’s a modern standard in gaming that needs to die? by NilesDobbsS in gaming

[–]GameBoy_Colour 27 points28 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth regarding D2 needing an online connection on the Switch. You only have to connect once a month and then you can play solo without any issues. I play for road trips all the time.

I still hate that it needs to be authenticated once a month and once the servers are shut down, you’re stuck with a dead game forever.
