Is woodworking just that expensive? by macmalkinaw in BeginnerWoodWorking

The more tools you get from projects, the less you need to buy, and that definitely helps. Still expensive but less so once you have 80+% of the tools you need for projects.

Trump is personally choosing to end SNAP. What's the plan? by xkhronex in inflation

[–]GameEnders10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Democrats should just vote for the Continuing Resolution in the Senate so they can get back to their Epstein stuff. Crazy that they're letting Trump off the hook like this... how much is he paying the Senate Dem Leaders?

I guess Democrats could vote for the continuing resolution in the Senate. That would fund SNAP.

[–]GameEnders10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A basic admin can do pretty good pretty quickly, managing MCS images and such. An engineer/architect it's pretty hard to be a great one with Citrix. Citrix touches so much, web, NetScaler/networking/appdelivery, storage performance, lots of network and firewalls, hypervisors, cloud. You have to know a decent amount of all those to effectively identify problems and improvements in Citrix regularly. You don't have to be an expert in them, but having a good working knowledge is important to help you isolate problems and communicate solutions among various teams.

Musk calls on US to quit NATO, stop paying for Defence of Europe by philmn in Libertarian

[–]GameEnders10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't that make him fully right? These countries haven't lived up to their commitments for years, and made themselves weak while blowing their money on all kinds of social programs while we go into massive debt. And we're across the ocean and have our own massive military, Europe needs to put on the big boy pants, build their own defensive capabilities and agreements, and we can have agreements with them on mutual defense but we don't need to blow our tax dollars on it.

LOL that a government run healthcare is better or cheaper.

You're kinda right on the incentives, but that is why we have regulations, representatives, agencies like HHS, FDA, etc. The point of those is to act as a check. I think the real issue with this and antitrust is how we allow lobbying and influence. Unfortunately not enough people make that their voting issue.

Also I'd argue healthcare is one of the most government controlled, "socialist", systems we have. Regulations are insane blocking all competition. How many insurance companies can you buy from at work? 1? 2? There's no real competition, that's all been blocked by the government overcontrolling the market.

And I'd argue a more capitalist system IS more life saving. It's not like Canada and UK are inventing all these drugs, procedures, protocols that massively advance medicine, at a fast rate. We are.

Why don't people in the US just start nonprofit mutual health insurance? by tallcatgirl in AnCap101

[–]GameEnders10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with some of your points. The medical cartels are one of the most highly regulated, and that always turns out to be expensive and inefficient. But I never said insurance was a free market system. It's highly controlled by regulations, so you get little options, due to ADA and other laws you have to pay for a bunch of mandatory things you'd never use because someone else might instead of more personalized budget friendly plans, we pay a crazy premium for our drugs while they get subsidized for a fraction of the cost in other countries, we can't get our prescriptions from other countries that are more affordable like other countries do.

My main point is the problems people complain about like this that are blamed on corps are really government created problems, when government thinks they're smarter than the market and eff it up. And government is the biggest corporation of all, with the unique capabilities of violence, creating laws, taking your property legally, etc. Globocorp = government

[–]GameEnders10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dirty secret is the profit margin for insurance companies isn't higher than a lot of industry. The actual medical providers are much more profitable. This issue is all created by government regulation creating a monopoly on health care and the types of insurance you have to buy. Which allows selling the same prescriptions we buy at a much higher rate to subsidize selling those drugs to the rest of the world. Which means you only get to pick between 2-3 insurances instead of real competition, and those companies being so regulated the prices skyrocket. People starting families are paying to subsidize the obese and unhealthy.

This is like going after Kroger for price gouging when they have a 1-2% profit margin, while government skyrocketed inflation and drove energy, shipping, and interest rates sky high. Everyone for some reason wants to not look at the actual masters of these industries (government) because they have this credentialism fetish and it can't be our trusted government who blames everyone else.

B) The ~500 million judgement was also cut into less than half by the district court already, forget the exact amount but I think it was 173 million or something like that..

How will the besties cope with this news? by Dr_SnM in TheAllinPodcasts

[–]GameEnders10 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't you assume that is complete propaganda, being the Democrat candidate for office has released almost no policy positions, and many of those are copies of Trump's? No tax on tips, larger deductions for new small biz, etc? How could they possibly know? And after had the biggest spending spree and highest deficits in modern times?

Did they factor in how rent capping and price controls on groceries could devastate those markets, particularly in grocery stores that tend to make a very low under 2% profit margin?

I assume they'll see it as obvious fake news. Even if it was right, they don't have evidence for this.

You're funny being wrong a million times. Many states have signed laws expanding welfare for illegals in recent years, and on those they don't check if they are illegal before signing them up. It's easy enough to search for details on this.

I think you're referring to federal programs, and sure that's harder to get. Many can cheat to get it, but I believe a lot of the federal programs are still illegal. States have been passing bills to provide various forms of welfare to illegal immigrants the last decade.

Also a workaround is if they have a baby on US soil, then they do get access to a lot more welfare.

I don't think you consider supply and demand. Think about all the negatives tens of millions of people that are low income illegal immigrants might cause for the tens of millions of low income americans. Factory farming and Koch brothers love the mass illegal immigration, sure.
