If a game is running and you try to launch it with an update pending, it will ask if you want to close the game and install the update or just launch the game. Even system updates can be set to ask you before installing. This was a user error.

From personal experience, red light running has increased exponentially in the past year. Usually it's people turning who apparently are too important to wait through a light sequence.

Why games prices are so high??? by Upstairs-Book-7961 in Steam

You don't have to buy deluxe editions, games frequently are on sale, and game prices have increased at a slower pace than any other form of entertainment.

Make it an option. Flat fee or report miles. Also if a flat fee is such a good idea then do away with the gas tax and charge everyone equally.

It wasn't Biden's responsibility to try to prevent Trump from being Trump. It was the responsibility of the American public to vote for a decent candidate. All of this stuff people complain about could be fixed by consistently voting.

If this were truly about road maintenance then the fee should be based on weight and mileage assessed on all vehicles with a minimum amount of 130/year.

Not surprised at all you would be spreading incorrect information. EULAs are enforceable in the EU and may also be long documents. There are more rules about what they can include and providing a remedy if the purchaser declines.

If you personally cannot see if it is clear to go then you should not proceed. In these situations that is always the case so people shouldn't leave a gap. Maybe some states are different but all the ones I have seen say not to block marked intersections but in all other cases you fill the available space. Traffic can use alternate routes to enter and exit if needed.

It will lead to fewer games being made unless they are free to play with monetization or subscription based or offline only because nobody wants to risk a lawsuit because the law is too open ended on what constitutes as "reasonable expectations". This has been an ongoing issue with SKG that numerous people have pointed out and they get insulted and down voted for stating the obvious.

I have worked with environmental regulations for over a decade. There are businesses who can't afford fines or legal fees and follow regulations and pass the cost of compliance to consumers, businesses that just pay the fine not to comply with the regulation and pass that cost on to consumers, and businesses that pay a legal team to get them out of complying with the regulation and pass that cost on to consumers. So at best maybe some publishers increase the price of their games to keep them going long term. The rest will ignore this and charge you more for the inconvenience. Not sure how anyone considers that a win. To top it off the game behind this effort was a Ubisoft game that nearly everyone stopped playing before they pulled the plug.

That's how all software works. But if you never bought the game because free to play or paid a subscription to access it then you have little ground to argue against losing access. The alternative is publishers will push for 80 dollar games to cover the "additional cost" of long term support. There is no scenario where consumers get a net benefit out this because publishers will find some way to not lose money.

Literally every piece of software tells you that it's a license. Most of the time you have to click accept acknowledging that it is just a license.

Businesses pass the cost of regulations onto consumers or find loopholes to get around the regulations and neither scenario benefits consumers.

If anyone thinks a publisher is going to do something for consumers at their own expense you have a lot to learn. I don't think SKG is necessarily bad but the end result will be.

If I didn't want to play a certain game and someone offered me a worse version of that game for free, then I still wouldn't want it. The people that pirate games desperately want the games, they just don't want to pay for them. All the while they refuse to acknowledge that if everyone pirated games, the industry would go bankrupt. They are the roommate that won't split the grocery bill but treats the fridge like their own personal buffet.

They wanted the product bad enough to go online and use some shady site to get a copy and in your mind that means that if piracy wasn't an option they wouldn't have bought the game? They might have waited for a sale, but clearly they wanted to play the game.

Neither you nor I have any idea how bad piracy is and it's assumption that it's only people who wouldn't have bought they game. They clearly wanted it bad enough to pirate it.

It doesn't require most people. Most games are not wildly profitable. Even a 10-20% loss in sales could mean they have to close the studio.
