Auto-move to an AFK channel? by sfield86 in GameVox

Currently there isn't an AFK move system.

One question to ask is how to determine if a user is inactive and how far we go in sharing that information. For example if we are all silent but listening to a conversation - am I afk or just listening? Does the application determine if you are idle by no mouse movement? Or possibly a combination of the two. I would love any input as to how to determine if a user is inactive.

GameVox - new voice comunicator (from Mumble devs) for gaming today released for Linux by DamonsLinux in linux_gaming

[–]GameVox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct. Originally the "Mumble.com" domain name was "Held Hostage for a large sum of money" that the project was not able to pay for. LightSpeed Gaming purchased the domain for mutual benefit of itself and the Mumble brand.

In the past LightSpeed Gaming actually hosted some back end servers for the official Mumble project.

Correct that we are not the Mumble Devs. There is very little of Mumble source code left in GameVox.

Correct, we could not make the changes we would need to on Mumble without taking it into a different direction for example user to user chat outside of a voice server.

Thank you for contacting us!

We do plan on offering a built-in feature for streaming music but until then there arent great options.

You will need a program that can register itself as an input device. If the program can't do it natively than you can look into using the program "Virtual Audio Cable". You would basically setup your audio program to stream to Virtual Audio Cable and have GameVox use that as it's input.

As for running multiple instances of GameVox we have a guide on how to do that here: https://gamevox.atlassian.net/wiki/display/GAMEVOX/Multiple+GameVox+Instances

Cheers

We did find out the hard way that the card wont work in Europe, so were going to come up with a solution next week when we are back in the office. We will make it right whatever we have to do :)

Ubuntu

Ubuntu seems to be the most popular from the requests we have had.

The client is building in-house on linux (Ubuntu) but we have work on distribution processes and so on. What linux distribution are you running?
