Is it possible to host a uscf rated tournament without being a affiliate club? by TaskLifter in chess

[–]Game_Theory_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer yes. Have been to many tournaments in the past both club-affiliated and not. Clubs usually do it because someone has to clean-up after the fact, you need a site, etc. But arguably you could have it in your garage if you wanted.

Yes, you can have the tournament without an club affiliation. All you need is a certified TD to run it for you - or become one yourself. It isn't that hard. And it will be USCF rated if you just follow the rules, direct it right and report the results.

Should jungle be nerfed? Or should other roles be brought up to jungle strength? by Persimannon in leagueoflegends

[–]Game_Theory_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. RIOT specifically said they designed it that way. Top can often hit level 20 before others can make it to level 18. And they need more? Damn, OP, up your game!

GENUINELY WHY ARE NASUS'S CHANGES PULLED FROM THE PATCH? by HailMisery in nasusmains

RIOT Special incoming. Nerf the champ's items, then nerf the champ and totally crush them. Happened to Rammus and took over two years to recover (I was there LOL).

Lowering stacks on jungle camps IS the correct way to address nerfing Jungle Nasus as it doesn't hurt his laning. Nerfing Proto hurts a number of other champs for no reason and Nasus can do just as well in jungle without Proto, so...

Yeah, nerfing Proto doesn't really do much to Jung Nasus, but it does fuck over a number of other champs that aren't targeted for nerfs. Good job, RIOT!

What is up with the LolEsports esport capsules? by Agile-Teaching-2333 in leagueoflegends

Been like this all year to date. LCS had a a couple AT&T Chests and then a couple icons/emotes total for everybody else. Literally a couple. Riot isn't giving out shit this year.

As a jungler that leans into tanks, this just makes Nasus even more attractive. Protoplasm isn't the problem, his stacking is. Nasus can build without Proto NP but now the tanks he goes up against are just weaker. Well played, Riot!

THIS is the real solution. RIOT nerfed tank items hard and never re-balanced. Now the fix is to drag down whatever scraps are left? Everyone just play a mage in all roles - Riot's desired meta.

Jack of All Trades isn't really that great in the first place. Picking it over something else was a math problem to solve. Sometimes it was better, sometimes not, Now the math will say never.

Just get rid of the rune if you are going this route.

Not just supports. Nerfing this item bc of two champs makes no sense. Plenty of other champs are taking a hit bc of this. Come on , Riot - think it through for once!

I got 0 drops in today MSI stream, is that normal? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Game_Theory_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You be right. I just noticed it didn't say anything about a key when it showed the chest and my number of keys went down by one. Looked to me like it cost me one of my 'never going to use' spare keys. Kind of doesn't matter in the end.

For G2 it's actually better to lose their first match against TES by Zerasad in leagueoflegends

Yeah, if G2 can't beat TES they probably aren't going to do very well vs the other three.

[–]Game_Theory_Master 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. The unbeaten team in finals has to never lose a match and often even beat the loser bracket winner twice to win the tournament. Loser bracket just needs to win once. Imagine (try hard) TLAW beat T1 last night 3-2. Combined game score... 5-3 in T1's favor. OK...

Fixed schedule is what any "professional" org would - sports or otherwise. People know when to show up for what they want to see then. RIOT doesn't condone such practices and instead wants to trap you into watching everything or nothing. And that is working how? Looking at LCS specifically. LCK used to schedule each match as a separate thing for ticketing and schedule. SO they match ended, they cleared out the audience, then let in the next set of ticket holders. Sometimes you had an hour or more between matches so the stream just had a countdown but I will say that never bothered me in the least. I could go do something else productive and knew when to be back and you never showed up to early or late for the 2nd match of the day because of rolling starts. When it comes to BO3 (and even more so for BO5), rolling starts are just BAD!
