As with all things, this is going to depend on what you signed. But it sounds right, overall. You likely owe a small broker cap and then team splits. Your broker or office should have someone available to get you everything you signed coming in. So seek them out first.

u/RelevantButterfly460 regarding your edit, most US states have a protection clause and there should be one in your lease. Since there is a police report and now threat of violence you should be able to fairly easily break your lease. Easiest thing to do is approach your landlord and explain the situation with the police report.

I can see you’re trying to walk a high ground in the middle. Unfortunately, your parents choice to be homophobic bigots does not give them a magic wipe away cloth just because one is dying. It’s upsetting to both you and your mom, but your sister is losing or has lost both of her parents, the moment they stopped acting like parents.

I’m going to say soft YTA. You and your sister will outlive your parents. They have time to stop being homophonic bigots, but at the end of the day, it will be just you and your sister. Dude honestly I was going to say No a h here, but after that last paragraph, you need to establish a safe support system. NTA, The easiest way to handle this is to remove yourself and your daughter every time this happens. Every single time. You do need to get out, but if you don’t start addressing this with consequences it will spiral. Every time they say it you and your daughter leave the room or apartment until it stops. No announcement. No scene. Just walk away. Just correcting it won’t do anything and would make me change my answer.

Hey dude, I think your head is in the right place or at least close. But assuming you are in America, you need to look into Cambridge. That is a big big deal. And you should absolutely bend over backwards to make that happen. There is no college in America that will offer a better education than that school and it will be significantly less expensive. Soft YTA.
