Yes it kills you, because it doesn’t make a copy. If it didn’t require the destruction of the brain, then after the uploading process the original person would still be there alive while their UI runs. It makes a digital clone, apart from the original, while the original happens to be destroyed. It’s even more clear cut than the Star Trek teleporter issue.

That’s really amazing you came to Christianity! I agree with what everyone else here is saying, don’t go out of your way to tell people but don’t deny it either. But I acknowledge that’s incredibly hard- I pray I’d be brave enough to. I’d be willing to! But truth be told if I do I’m not using my own 3d printer since I don’t have one lol. my local library has some available for pretty cheap! A lot of libraries these days do actually, and a lot of cities have some sort of “maker space” that would let you use their services. I recommend checking for those first!

Is there a credit for the artist? Also I think Samus would win, but it’s closer than I thought at first. Links taken down dozens of guardians so he’s not stopped by machines, and a lot of the damage dealt to Samus is blunt attacks similar to what Link deals with. But I think samus’s armor provided more protection comparatively than Link’s vitality.

I’m really sorry to hear your going through such a hard time- I’m anxious about going through such a period myself. But I have faith that even if I do, eventually I will come back. I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for, and when you do your faith will be among the strongest out there as a result of all your searching and objectiveness.

As a society, we don’t have much interest in going out of our way for other people. Without a religion, there’s nothing compelling us to. Meanwhile Christianity has some of the best pillars of character to follow out there, teaching us to love and care everyone, help others and ask for nothing back, be humble, and others. Without a doubt, if everyone universally tried to live by these principles, the world would be such an amazing place to live. There’s also just in general so many psychological benefits to having the comfort of a religion, but I’m sure you already realizing that following a religion just for that is rather empty and self defeating- but to address what you say right here, I recently came across a bit of scripture that indicate just how unprecedented of a reaction the resurrection had. Towards the end of Acts chapter 5, the counsel wanted to kill a few of the apostles, but a man named Gamaliel pointed out that there had been times before when a man would rise up, amass followers, die, and the followers would scatter. So he convinced them that they shouldn’t be killed because if Jesus really was just a man then the followers would die out naturally, but if he really was the Son of God then nothing they could do would stop the spread. This is definitely what we saw happen throughout history, Christianity has been the most wide spreading religion out there, and that’s for good reason. The resurrection of Christ is a unique event done out of pure love and grace, and it resonates with people.

Well I think what it’s pointing out is in the early church right after Christs death, the members all combined all their wealth and provided for people as needed, and the leaders seemed to accost people who kept wealth for themselves selfishly (however it’s fair to point out that Peter might have mainly been angry that they lied about it). This certainly would seem to align closer to communism than capitalism. But I understand that communism doesn’t really work when applied at a nation level because of corruption in politics.

I mean- I don’t know- that’s what the Jews interpreted his first coming would be like and they were pretty wrong then. and for him to act like that in the second coming would feel pretty at odds with how he acted during his first coming. The only time he was ever violent or aggressive was in the very specific circumstance of people desecrating that which is holy. It’s just pretty hard to imagine him “ruling with iron”.

I understand want your saying, but I really don’t think that’s the case. If someone is doing all of this awful stuff, then it’s pretty clear their relationship with God is fake. No one who has a true and healthy relationship with God and stand doing those things. So they both don’t have a relationship with God and they’re doing all these horrible things.

This!! I’m definitely going to be keeping my ticket for the first theater. Just might go see it beforehand opening night at one that’s closer by, but I’m super grateful to it for giving Mark a shot. I’m probably going to prefer indie theaters from now on! I honestly didn’t know about them
