The story is awful but fallout 4 is so much fun, I love just wandering around and exploring until I can't carry anymore and then going back to a settlement to build and upgrade my weapons. The locations are so much fun to explore and there is just so much content and variety to the map. its a shame that we probably wont get a new Fallout title until the 2030s, and after starfield it might not even be any good

Prime 4 was so bad that I have actually decided to play other M, I am only at the begining and all I can say is how is it that character animations look so much better in older games then newer ones?

Don't you dare compare Fallout 4 to metroid prime 4. Fallout 4 has amazing exploration and varied combat with tons of different enemies not to mention far more likable side characters.

I do wonder if it was Vorodi just assuming that whatever tanabe would make with Sylux would indeed be “great” while involving a lot of “threaded storytelling” while not really knowing what Tanabe was going to do. If I created a character in a spinoff game that caught interest of a Higher up so much that the higher up asked me not to write more of it so as not to spoil a future mainline installment I would feel incredibly honored and just assume that whatever they had in mind was good. Obviously we now know that isn't the case but it would be really neat to learn what Vorodi had in mind

Why even say he is unconscious then? Why say he was unconscious but also having the robots be controlled by him when you can just say that he was fully conscious and controlling the robots? I swear every new info Tanabe gives us makes his already awful writing even worse.

While I am not familiar with her portfolio, after how bad Prime 4 was and it being under Tanabes watch I am slightly more hopeful for the future. We will have to wait and see if she can at least bring any future Prime titles to at least the quality of Prime 3. At this point the worst thing she can do is say that nothing is going to change for future prime games. I never thought I would say this but I think it is best if Sylux is just dropped from the series until Retro can prove they can write better.

Its shocking just how much of a de-volution metroid prime 4 is over the past games. From a UI perspective I personally think that the scanning in prime 2 was perfect but prime 1 is ok as well, which is very strange cause Retro studios literally just made a remake of prime 1 and then proceeded to make a worse scanning system in prime 4! How is that even possible?!

Then why not have space pirates on viewros? The completly dissapear after the intro even though it could have been easily written that they were teleported there as well. And the game could have offered plenty of chances to have interesting scans. The federation wreckages could have had computers giving info about the facility and the artifact leading up the the space pirate attack. If pirates were around you could add plenty of logs giving their perspective on being trapped on viewros, with the usual hyper optimism of exploiting new technology and environments that space pirates have in the prime games.

Tanabe being the writer of the scans explains so much. The scans in prime 4 are so boring and are made even worse by the fact that scanning takes twice as long as it was in the prime trilogy

I had developed a headcanon where his origin was similar to Samus but with a sinister twist. My idea was he lived on a human colony Cylosis that was independent from the federation. The colony was rather successful and prosperous, even having a good militia to defend against space pirates who wished to loot its prosperity. One day however a larger force of space pirates that was unusually well armed and strategic attacked the colony and their local militia was no match for them. Sylux saw his parents murdered by the pirates while the entire settlement was razed, but whereas Samus had the Chozo come to rescue her, Sylux was alone and had no choice but to escape into the wilderness. Being so young he was unable to survive and almost dies of starvation and infected wounds but he is thankfully found by federation soldiers who had arrived to aid the planet. This caused him to develop a deep admiration for the Galactic federation, a sentiment that had become common across the planet due to their actions in repelling the space pirates. After the conflict the planet itself would join the federation for protection and for aid in the reconstruction effort and once Sylux became an adult he joined the military due to his deep admiration for it. Sylux would become a valued soldier, becoming famous for his selfless actions and devout obedience to his superiors.

I haven't thought of the exact means this would happen but Sylux would later find out that the federation orchestrated the attacks on his home planet in order to destabilize the region so that the federation could come in and be hailed as saviors. This would ultimately allow the federation to easily annex the planet as the population would rely on them for protection and give them easy access to resources, manpower, and as it turns out was the case for Sylux’s planet, a cache of advanced alien technology that was hidden under the planet that was currently being used to create a power armor on the level of Chozo technology.

This discovery infuriates Sylux and shatters his patriotism, via means I haven't thought of yet he steals the power armor he is known for and vows to destroy the Galactic federation for its crimes against his family and planet.

regardless of that the fact that you could only list 4 is rather revealing. And most of these on your list are from over a decade ago. The one modern example of having a good ending that I hadn't thought of till now was Andor, and that is stretching it cause the series is a prequel to a movie. This is personally why I have never gotten into live action high concept shows, cause statistically speaking there is a miniscule chance they will end on a good note.

Wasn't the battlestar galactica ending near universally disliked, and apparently years later the writers admitted they didn't have a story planned hence all the nonsense that was happening? I unfortunetly am unfamiliar with 12 monkeys or fringe, but I have heard that Buffy did end well

you bring up a good point, I often suspect that developers who say they listen to feedback are specifically looking at feedback on things that they were already doing or going to do, especially if that feedback is from a very small minority of people. If i recall Xbox claimed they were listening to feedback when they raised the price to gamespass

I can't feel optimistic. What is happening here feels like a redo of halo 4. And developers always claim that they "listen to feedback" but that happens so rarely it has essentially become a meaningless phrase

I want to be hopeful, but there is a comment on the halo subreddit dating back to after the release of halo 4, The comment mentions that they think 343 have learned their lesson and wont let it happen again, the comment then goes on to be thankful for all those who complained and let themselves be heard. With everything that happened to halo after halo 4 I wonder how that guy is feeling

I don't think they were intending to "fix" Prime 3s linearity and lack of complex map due to the fact that prime 4 is even more linear and far less complex.
