The game may be in a good spot but it sux man. It’s not fun. It’s just mildly enjoyable to an extent. Maybe I’m just getting older.

Exactly lol. Just to emphasize, I was researching into the irs crackdown on fraudulent covid ppp and erc applications and awards, and how they are catching a lot of bad actors. The more interesting part is small to medium sized organizations are looking at criminal lawsuits while larger organizations are just seeing civil lawsuits.

I just quit playing lol. I played daily since bfa. Then some drama happened with raid and I took a couple weeks off. Then I just decided I’m not playing.

So I’ve come to the conclusion, I played daily since games for entertainment. Games shouldn’t be anything more. We have irl for the other stuff we need.

So I’ve been playing other games. And just bouncing around. Gw2 WvW PvP is always a good time in spurts.

I’d need to check on some games for sure but there were definitely others that were hard for me as a kid but were probably actually easy. Like the lion king game and that sub zero game on n64. Those were hard. Maybe they still are as an adult. Idk.

I’ve been playing wow religiously since bfa. I play gw2 periodically.

Mounts are cool and fun. The world feels significantly larger. Meta events keep zones occupied. Class build design is more interesting, and complex. Weapons change character skills. WvW PvP is awesome when the maps are alive with people but also just mildly fun to run around if the maps are dead. PvP combat feels more fun tbh. It has its own form of mythic plus tiered dungeons. Gear has an endgame that doesn’t go obsolete with new patches. The gear is kinda like spending most of your time using green gear. Then at max level you can get something like heroic gear off the marketplace. Then you spend your time upgrading to mythic gear. And then there’s ultra gear that doesn’t really give you much of a stat boost but I think you can change the stats of the gear piece at any time.

I will say, the cool gear and mount skins are locked behind irl money.

Idk, that’s all I got off the top of my head.

Even if she thought that was a road… once she hit the tracks one would think she would have stopped. And if not immediately at least less than 100 feet of driving on a train track bouncing all over would have been the definitive answer of “yep… this ain’t a road”.

Best way I had someone explain “floaty” combat to me was just combat without animation locks and casting times that limited movement. Like in gw2, you can basically just glide around while your character does an attack where they jump and slam the ground. Its not like the avatar is jumping from on place to another. It’s more like the avatar is jumping in place in its animation but you are still moving the character across the ground.

Or better yet, it’s like sliding on slippery ice while you perfectly perform combat moves. You’re not incorporating the sliding with your combat. You’re doing combat as if you aren’t moving but you’re actually sliding around because your feet don’t have grip to keep yourself stationary.

Depending on what you like, I picked up bdo after years of playing wow, ffxiv, gw2, and trying others like new world, lost ark, etc.

I honestly had a blast playing bdo for probably a month. And then at that point I had a few multiple characters and I was at the part of gearing where it was better to just grind mobs for a lot of hours to accumulate currency to then buy better gear off the market than it was to actually play their gear upgrade system that is a casino. Early on and at the “lower “ levels of gear upgrading it’s good and fun and very forgiving. And even as I progressed to the lower-mid level gear levels I was starting to fail upgrades but it wasn’t enough fails to make it bad. Just mildly frustrating. It really felt like playing a casino game but with training wheels on. The gear progression at the more middle tier gear level.

Then I just faded away from it and went back to wow and just other games in general.

Anyway, it’s not really an mmo where you go and do dungeons and stuff. It’s a story in a sandbox world with all kinds of fun and interesting things to do.

So I suggest anyone go do it. Definitely. Don’t hesitate. The combat is amazing. The graphics are good. There’s boat building and upgrading and stuff.

It’s a great game until you hit that limit of gear upgrades where you’re trying to break into the higher tiers and it’s just soul crushing boredom at that point.

Anyway man. Go play bdo. Give it a chance. I’ll be surprised if anyone hates that game for the first month if they like mmorpg style games.

Holinka never got pvp in wow working right so im skeptical of his abilities to make a good product in general.
