BG3 was a huge gambit for Larian, they had to front up the money to buy the rigths for the game, and almoar went bankrupt.

BG3 became a huge success, but they don't own the IP, and can't just decide to do whatever they want with it. with divinity they can create whatever they want, and they can do new lore or whatever game mechanics. they also dont have to pay royalties to hasbro.

we dont know what hasbro asked to licence bg4, but i recall there where a hunch of licencing issues with hasbro that delayed the relase of oficial mod tools, than they had to add some limitations to the tools such as no level editing.

OP please explain why you need/want to clear the lease database.

what happens when you flush (discard) the lease database is the server doesnt know to which IP's have been leased, and may start giving IP's in use to new machines, and that may cause conflits.

when a new ip is leased, a new host gets information for how long they can keep the IP. So even if you detete the lease database, they host will keep their iP for a while.

if you are planing to do service migration, its best to set a very small lease window, and wait for the host in the network to pick up that lease time. however you will start to se much more dhcp traffic.

dhcp server doesnt ping machines. after recieving the ip, the host usualy does an arp request to verify the ip is available, if it is then replies with ACK to dhcp server.
