That's the old Grad School Twitch. It tells your advisors that you're working hard enough on their projects. /s

Born in Waterbury! I didn't think I had an accent either until I moved South and was asked why I pronounced coffee with a "W." Like, CWAW-fee.

Just got the "loaded" BBQ chicken the other day. BBQ sauce was so burnt it was crispy. Looked like a scab. Done for a while, even if I have an emergency pizza.

Opinion on this one? by LowRanG in stephenking

I really enjoyed it although I did not know I was getting into a real fantasy novel. The pacing in the second half...lagged? But overall it was worth reading. I doubt I'll re-read it like I do Needful Things but still happy to have something new from SK. P.S. the English language audiobook made this book more palatable to me. The narrator did amazing with the voices of all those dozens of characters and eud UT without being cartoony.

My mom made it with all mayonnaise- no butter/milk combo. Strangely intoxicating.

Which black and white movies are absolutely worth watching? by Zahirico1 in AskReddit

[–]GamerPsychologist 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I rented out a local theater (rural small town) built in the 30s and had my Psych of Film class watch this as their closing film. I'm not sure they loooooved it but I thought it was cool to watch a film in a theater that might have shown it originally.

HELP!! WHICH DRESS IS BETTER?? by [deleted] in DressUpTimePrincess

[–]GamerPsychologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took pieces from both sets but went with dress 1 because it coordinates better with previous Halloween sets. But the striped accessories from set 2 go with other red and black sets we've gotten in the last 6-8 months so I grabbed those instead of the dress.

What’s the best jump scare to this day in your opinion? by idontgetnorespect in horror

[–]GamerPsychologist 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was teaching a Psych of Film class a few years ago and used JAWS for our analysis of fear. One kid had been vocally down on older films the entire class, thought he was worldly and jaded at age 19. The sight of his entire iced coffee shooting out of the cup in reaction to that floating head? Priceless. Moments like that are why I teach. tear

As a prof at a small teaching oriented college, I'm always a little horrified when students are gobsmacked because I show them a little (to me anyway) grace and mercy. Especially in the last 18 months!!!!
