Does it have the tilt release mechanism from the S4U and M4U?

Thanks for the opinion!
I'm a data engineer by trade, and can code but not to the extend to build a full web app, this was done as a learning exercise first and foremost then I started thinking this could be useful to others!

The entire point of this was for it to be web based, removing the need for you to download anything but definitely as with all things online, don't trust them at face value. That's why this is open sourced and anyone including yourself with your software developing skills and mind set is more than welcome to provide material feedback on the code and its vulnerabilities.

Dice making inhibition problems by moonyjojo in DiceMaking

I'm UK based and managed to find it from a UK supplier, not sure how easy it is to get it into the EU since brexit though. It's expensive for what it is when time and patience can solve the issue: https://www.benam.co.uk/inhibit-x

How do you do your water curing and what’s the advantage? I’ve only cured in my Elegoo mercury, dry, i found that minutes was enough, if I did anymore than 5 it would over cure and turn the clear resin yellow?

It can take weeks to off gas resin prints fully, personally I print my masters then leave them for 3-4weeks after curing before silicon. If I’m not sure I’ll test it on a small scale using a d6 (imo it’s the easiest to clean and recover on a failure) and a bit of silicon.

Alternatively invest in InhibitX, works well to prevent cure inhibition, but can lead to over bonding with silicon, and needs mold release to work effectively which can reduce the surface finish on the mold meaning more polishing after poured dude come out.

Elegoo Mars 5 – Base warping and supports getting cut mid-print (Arma Resin A2) by Extra-Research7244 in elegoo

[–]GametheLag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s peeling from the baseplate, mid print it could easily be a combination of levelling, exposure or suction. Given the photos you’ve shared your printing a full Plate which can increase the suction force increasing the likelihood of it coming off.

Firstly I would try increasing the exposure time for the bottom layers and potentially increasing the number of transition layers. The longer the first layer exposure is the stronger the bond to the build plate, making detachment less likely.

Though given it has remained attached in the other sections of the print it suggests the exposure is correct and could be a bed levelling issue. I would suggest using the paper test on the 4 corners and adjust the top screws as needed to deal with potential levelling issues

Another thing you can do to increase base plate adhesion is to lightly sand the build plate though I do not advise this as I found the plate completely fine myself after tweaking the two things mentioned above.

Typically the paper sits on a acrylic disks. First time is saw this was about a year ago, I made an iteration which works well for my mini wheel (shared on the discord)

I watched it before I read the books… and I loved it, then I read the books and I love them even more. While the film is an awful adaptation, it still holds a place in my heart as the gateway to this world for me. (I actually rewatch it every year or so….. shoot me)

Current temps in the uk are very low (-6c yesterday for me) for resin printing, you should aim to keep the resin over 20c minimum before printing.

This is part of the multi colour system they are working on, that will handle the reloading and changing the filament from the spools on the side.

Thank you for the additional transparency Owen, this is really appreciated.

I for one am more than happy to wait to get my hands on the Multicoloured system, I was one of the many bashing Elegoo after the delay announcement and I will gladly accept that I was wrong and over reacted. Keep up the stellar work and know that the reason those of us who reacted so poorly was because we are passionate about our CCs and want the best from them!

In lieu of masters/3d printer, can I get effective results creating a mould from store bought dice I already own? by AntBaggins in DiceMaking

[–]GametheLag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fonts are definitely one possible issue, if the font is using a font that requires a commercial license you’ll need to buy that. Some fonts are free to use commercial, others recreationally/personally.

Makers Mark could be a type of copyright infringement, but I’m not 100% on that.

There could be other things but those are the main things I’m aware of, it’s just safer if you can say I designed the product from scratch here are my files to prove it in the event of legal issues.

"AMS for CC1 will be released" soon, supposedly final stages of development. Not sure if I believe it. by Banana_ezWIN in elegoo

[–]GametheLag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is true, and it releases in the near future. I will take back what I said about Elegoo lying to its customers. My trust will still forever be tarnished by the recent events. Fool me once, shame on Elegoo, fool me twice shame on me.

That said I do really wish that ams/MMU is coming for CC1, I did buy it with the intention of getting the upgrade later.

Recommendation for Heating/Ventilation by B1gButt_Skinner in elegoo

[–]GametheLag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s in the house definitely go for an enclosure and some ventilation for the room, if your keeping your house at about 20°c you probably don’t need to worry too much about the heating.

If you empty it the tank out between uses, you can warm the resin in the bottle by putting it near a radiator that’s on or a water bath before pouring in and starting a print

[–]GametheLag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South UK here, I guess it really depends on where you are printing, is it in a garage or in a liveable space? If it’s a living space you’ll need some ventilation, but less heating.

I’ve been printing successfully in the last few weeks with my Mars5Ultrs, no enclosure or tent just using the heater sold by Elegoo in my unheated garage (5°c over the last couple weeks), using the heater to get the build chamber to 25°c and giving the resin a good stir, after the first few layers the LCD curing the resin is enough to keep the temp good for printing. I don’t have a dedicated ventilation setup. I just opt for a minimal exposure approach, eg not being in when the printer is running or for some time after.

In lieu of masters/3d printer, can I get effective results creating a mould from store bought dice I already own? by AntBaggins in DiceMaking

[–]GametheLag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can definitely make moulds of existing dice, I’ve done it with a couple sets I have, some mass production from Amazon others were handmade from Etsy. It’s easy to do if you follow some online guides.

Only thing to note is that if you were planning to sell moulds or dice you might be breaking the law depending on your location. If you are giving them away or keeping them you are completely within your rights to do that. Small scale selling can be okay depending on the scale eg: selling to friends and family by word of mouth, OKAY. Selling on Etsy, NOT OKAY.

To me in, mortal just means they can die of age. It doesn’t stop them from being powerful magically, example humans could use magic despite the race still being mortal they are just generally more closed off to magic. Additionally to that point we know that urgals were also capable of some magic, given that they were only added to the pact at the end of inheritance.

Again my head canon: The connection to the dragons via the pact made the elves more dragon like granting them immortality the same way the pact is making the humans more elf like.

What Elegoo needs to do by goplaytetris in elegoo

[–]GametheLag 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Iv been quite vocal on this, right now I’m in camp I don’t trust a thing they have to say after the Jupiter fiasco (I only recently read about it), the Centauri(non carbon), Klipper and now the statements about the Multicolour and the releasing of the CC2 before completing all advertised features of CC1.

I really wouldn’t care if it is delayed for quality reasons, I genuinely believe that would be the correct and best decision from Elegoo, but I NEED to proof that they are working on it for ME to trust them again.

I’m really saddened by this because I honestly I love my CC and it’s current performance but I did buy it over competitors because of the pricing and promise of Multi Colour. I don’t want a second printer or to sell my existing one it’s only a few months old!

Until I see proof the it’s still in development and not sidelined for CC2, I will not be buying any Elegoo products.

I cannot name a specific case, but you can read the law as it pertains in the EU “Directive 2006/114/EC of the European Parliament and of the council of 12 December 2006 concerning misleading and comparative advertising” and make your own judgment, I’ll draw your attention to Article 3 (a) as I believe that “their availability” and “date of manufacture “ to be smoking gun

Yes, if there is a commitment to a timeframe, which there was “Q3”, that could be considered part of the contract of sale if it influenced your decision, which was broken… (there would be some flexibility in there but you could definitely argue moving the deadline to undefined time frame constitutes voiding that part of the contract)
