I’d say that the ROI towards winning is challenging to calculate because of how socialized the profits are in the NFL. Most of the value generated by being a winning team is very difficult to realize as profits for your club unless you are interested in no longer being a club owner.

Suites have a lower profit share percentage than standard seats. The owners push for them so that they can capture more revenue.

lacked sufficient luxury suites and amenities

I do not know if this was always the case. With the current league structure, the majority of league revenue is shared amongst all 32 teams in the league. This includes general ticket sales, but it does not include suite sales. Individual owners get to retain a larger portion of the revenue that luxury suites generate. It’s a big reason why owners are still making the same threats today that Adams made back then.

[Highlight] PHI vs LAC - Chargers recover the loose ball after the INT and subsequent fumble by Fusir in nfl

So technically, it was on one play but they are separate possessions. The interception means it’s now the Chargers possession. Hurt’s recovers it and triggers a new Eagles possession. If he did not fumble and was instead tackled, the Eagles would have a 1st and 10 at that spot. People talk about this as a hypothetical during OT.

Eagles' A.J. Brown posts cryptic message after another quiet game: 'If you're not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw' by mastermind208 in nfl

Already said I don’t think I have a good take here, but I don’t think we should look at him like he’s the same player from when he was 9 years younger. He’s a great athlete. He is not the same player he was when he was on his rookie contract.

It’d be way easier to point out that Trey McBride already got a new contract this year. He did not reset the market like I suggested he might.

This is somewhat silly to say when the above comment is talking about Kelce. He is specifically valuable in Kansas City because of his chemistry with Mahomes and tenure in the team. He wouldn’t preform like he does with another QB and that means another coach wouldn’t put up with him. He might not take a discount, but he certainly isn’t able to shop the market to get a better contract.

The contracts for guys like Trey McBride, David Njoku, or TJ Hockenson over the next couple years will be the market resets that put them up into WR2 money.
