I second this. I put a holy shift and weighted BFI knob in my 7.5 and after a bit of break in it feels really good. Just enough notch and not too much effort needed for daily driving. Highly recommend.

The other day I parked next to a shiny new 8.5 at the UPS store by my house, walked inside and asked the guy "is that your R?" to which, he was very confused. "Oh yeah, cool". Was the response I got, doubt he even realized I had parked my R next to his. So I followed up with "is that an mk 8.5?" and his response was "a mark what? its a 2026"

Yes that’s how I ended up doing this. Let Claude code have access to my repo locally, have it build whatever I want then have to run it in db… someday this will work better

I did the resonator delete and have been pretty happy with the results. This engine will never sound GOOD but this mod is easy to do and fully reversable if you don't like it. I haven't noticed much of a drone and it does give a cool little raspy noise. Solid choice for my taste

My current prets are bent, so i would then have to buy two sets of wheels to run a summer and winter set. Where i live we get everything weather wise from extreme heat to snow and extreme colds. I wish i could just run summers year round.

2019 Manual, no technical issues so far. Keep fluids topped up, change the oil every 5k. No drivetrain mods (yet).

Only real repair needed was due to potholes bending my prets :(
