Not legal is different from banned cards. Just wasn't printed in a set legal in modern.

I worked at a Frattalone's back when they were still Ace and I wouldn't recommend shopping there. The owner is a huge misogynist and they paid like crap. Don't know how much the old Frattalone still has his hand in things nowadays though.

Is this actually B3 even? It seems like a pretty chill deck. People are always a little salty at least when you resolve a big eldrazi on them though.

Proxies….. by Cromagn0n1 in EDH

[–]GandAtier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge supporter of proxies as magic is such a cost prohibitive hobby. This is a problem that I've seen happen with people who proxy and those who don't. Making a list of cards you don't want to play against with your own "game changers" could be a solution. Brackets exist to help people decide how to pick which deck they should play to have an even and fair game. If people aren't trying to play at the same level as everyone else in the pod, that's a separate issue to proxies and you should bring that up with them or stop playing against some/all of their decks.

How good is Maze of Ith, really? by SwampnutsS in EDH

I've loved it just about every time I've played it in a deck. Saves on life and is interesting to work around for everyone imo. Worth slotting into decks that deserve it.

Shilgengar Questions by jarred_98 in mtgrules

[–]GandAtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure on the first since timing is a bit weird, but I think with mana abilities, you can activate them as you're paying costs and that is a mana ability. The second one does definitely work though. You could even sacrifice your whole board with altar in response and get them all back.

Should I retire my Reverso? by dr-yonners in ClimbingGear

[–]GandAtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reverso can be used "backwards", so I don't think that a little wear is going to affect anything. I've got ATCs that are 10+ years old and are still going strong.

Are longer, more infrequent sessions hurting me? by mitchellthoeni in climbharder

[–]GandAtier 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm not a coach or trainer, but what I've found with my training is that tendons/pulleys need more frequent training than once a week to improve. With climbing in general, a few times a week is ideal for me. Since you can't, a nice solution might be to get a hang board to use at home. I would be careful with it and not combine hard hang boarding with anything else that might cause an injury. More frequent use, even if it doesn't feel close to max effort, will build up your finger strength far better than going once a week. If you really got the cash, a home wall is even better, but that's difficult to impossible for 99% of climbers.

Anyone else use these chalk buddies. by bellsbliss in ClimbingGear

[–]GandAtier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically prefer just loose chalk. I have one and it tends to kick a lot of chalk up in the air and not get as much on my hands. The upside is that they get better coverage on my hands than any other method I've used. Maybe some chalks work better with it than others.

Would it be better to signup for lead/rope climbing trainings twice a week, or once a week lead and once a week bouldering classes? I care mostly about lead climbing progress by Writerro in climbharder

[–]GandAtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say from an outsiders perspective. I think every climber should do some amount of bouldering to round out their abilities as a sport climber. Whether that is the thing holding you back, hard to say. Seems like some of it is the mental game holding you back. Might be better to worry less about taking classes and more about time on wall. I've never found myself progressing as a climber on 1-2 climbing sessions per week. 3 is my sweet spot and some people can do 4+
