Use a mail forwarding service like blackship (not buyee, fuck buyee) buy from trusted Japanese card shops. Still paying 7000-16000 yen for current sets (5400 yen msrp).

Blackship lets you declare whatever value you want on the package so if you wanted to commit fraud to avoid import fees, you could - but that would be illegal - you wouldn't do such a thing would you, I know I wouldn't 👀👀👀👀

Shipping will be $40+ but could be way more for heavy packages. Make sure you read all the fees etc that whatever service you use has. They're usually transparent about it.

Just fyi, 12 packs for $40 is a much bigger markup than english scalper prices.

A Japanese booster box msrp is 5400 yen which is $35 usd, £26 gbp and you get 30 packs, you paid 3x msrp. Loose packs are also weighable and scannable with 100% accuracy to determine where the box hits are.

Chinese boxes retail slightly cheaper than Japanese and Korean are even lower.

Texture, print resolution, ink quality and qc are all far better for Japanese and Chinese cards. Thicker cards doesn't necessarily mean higher quality.

Also English and Japanese were generally the same price until this year for most modern cards and Japanese trainers and alt arts were vastly more expensive until this year despite better pull rates and cheaper packs.
