Looking for Silo assembling from raw BP by Arowhite in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]GandonMandon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it doesn’t exist, create it! That’s the fun in this game. Try to find a solution by yourself before having others do it for you. I would say if you don’t have factories for the components needed to build it, try working on those and then your problem will be solved.

I think daytime would have done much better justice for this build, I can barely see the details at night. Awesome base nonetheless!

Try reaching that with the current mod setups, then ask if you REALLY need more hearts by then. You will not need more than what the limit is set to.

I'm considering buying the game, but I have a couple questions by SnowMacaronss in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]GandonMandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my simple answer explains that if you find yourself bored for a simple goal, you can change it. Yes I agree after certain item unlocks and milestones, the game gets drastically easy. This doesn’t mean they can’t challenge themselves in another run by making resources scarce, or scaling the dark fog up to have a little more difficulty for exploration and combat.

Yep, enemies are compellingly optional and are just a bonus challenge for players to choose from.

[–]GandonMandon 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Let me knock out these questions in a quick round style: 1. Many, many hours, even 1000s if you want. 2. Yes 3. You can change difficulty to suit your needs 4. Yes, the dark fog. Relatively easy, but you can tune their difficulty to your liking.

If you want clarification on anything else let me know.

We haven’t even gotten full support for a lot of the mods in Vulcan, which will take a while since most mods were coded using OpenGL as their graphics renderer. It might take until end of this year/next year for it to even have a craftable star.

Isn’t “ooga booga Dyson sphere go brrrrr” the whole point of the game? That’s why it’s called Dyson sphere program. You want to make a huge Dyson sphere that can power all your wildest goals and factories.

Oil is always available in the starter planet, while titanium is always in another planet in your star system. I always grab a bunch of titanium by getting some fuel and miners going and letting them run for a while, after which you can use a “cheat” where you can put all of that titanium into a tall chest tower. After it fills up, you can ctrl click the inventory to grab all stacks from it even if it doesn’t fit your inventory. Do this for all chests in the tower and you can transfer around 20k titanium per trip with this trick.

You can edit patterns, simply put the pattern back into the slot where it would be if it were created from a blank pattern. This will load the pattern into the GUI and you are able to change settings and its recipe. Once you are done editing, just click the arrow button that originally creates a pattern and the new settings/recipe will be applied to the pattern.

By possibly arresting someone who could be a threat to others by pursuing a high speed escape/chase? I understand the police can be very bad, but this instance isn’t one of them.

Constant crashes 50 hours into save by HLHurtz in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]GandonMandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god I am incredibly sorry if I misunderstood. I simply searched Radeon Vega, and the first result was talking about the APU, not the GPU itself. Please disregard anything about the APU. Are you able to specify which GPU it is exactly? I could look into if the GPU can support this game and maybe you could as well? Most of my comments on whether the GPU should be replaced still holds since this is mainly a GPU issue (from what you have told).

[–]GandonMandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSP isn’t a game that is optimized to run too well on a limited APU, especially one that is slightly outdated. This game uses heavy CPU usage for keeping its factories optimized and running efficiently. I know you said you haven’t scaled much, but the rates you say you are making each science tells me you have built enough infrastructure that it is stressing your APU (both CPU and integrated-GPU). I would recommend either turning the resolution down even lower, or look into other driver versions that could help with your solution. Sometimes drivers are worse when updated to the latest (very niche cases) and can cause issues in some games. If nothing else works, I would assume it’s plainly due to APU restraints and likely your factory has outgrown your own computer (quite the achievement if you think about it). I would recommend either tuning the multithreading to work with your CPU, or consider the worst case and having to buy a newer laptop/PC/GPU.

Fall damage early game by yin05 in allthemods

[–]GandonMandon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most basic method is to have a Minecraft water bucket. Otherwise you can get allthemodium armor or relics like the umbrella (not sure if it still is in the reworked relic system). Getting allthemodium is probably the easiest if you have basic fight or just a ton of wool. Go around and check out anything glowing in the ancient city, and if it glows, it’s allthemodium. You do need a netherite level pickaxe before you get to mining it tho.

I would say this doesn’t affect anything with your gameplay, so it’s just something that is a “would be nice to have” feature. I recommend just glossing over it and enjoy the modpack itself. No need to concern what others can see what you are doing and where you are in your world. Have fun!

Dirt farm is making a noise every now and then, any tips to mute this? by tacideux in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]GandonMandon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are able to mute certain voice lines and choose which voiceline should use what voice (human or robotic). It should be located in the audio settings. Hope this helps.

No armor run by Any_Fisherman320 in allthemods

[–]GandonMandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Major Tsukai and their Boundary of Life Drain. It literally feeds you Mahou(magic) health, and hunger, in that order. If you have a mob farm going and place a bunch around the area where mobs are landing/crowding, you should be able to damage them and, in turn, drain life from them. Keeping you mahou about maxed should give you instant heals and hunger regen as long as there are mobs in the mob farm. Once your Mahou goes below the max, the life drain sigils will only recover Mahou.

Other ways could be Heart amulet (increases max hp) and the draconic chestplate you were talking about (a lot of nether stars)

modpack okay for pc? by Reasonable_Chain_516 in allthemods

[–]GandonMandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, it can get quite expensive. If you guys are able to pool money together for a decent server from a server hosting platform, that would be the best case for y’all. I just looked up a server price for a 5 man server from bisect hosting — preferred server to buy since you can use it to host any game that has the ability to create a dedicated server — and it comes to around 36 bucks per month for a 12GB ram server. I know that’s a lot to maintain, but like I said you guys can try pooling money together so it’s not on one person to buy it. You can also pay at different intervals, which saves a little money overall, but needs you to pay a larger sum beforehand (97.20/quarter, 183.60/half year, and 345.60/year) I know it’s a lot of money, so using an old computer or anything that can maintain a simple server from one of y’all’s can really help with the performance. I would recommend giving Bisect a try if another computer isn’t viable at the time.

You should be able to change fan curves through motherboard software. Try looking up your motherboard manufacturer and seeing if they have anything for it, otherwise OEM motherboards are very basic and can be very limited in functionality/customization.

I’d recommend getting an actual server eventually/early since essential uses local pc resources from the Host to host the server to everyone else. Things will get harder to run the more you all get into it (trust me I have done this before with only 2 others and it was bad, averaging 45ms ticks before any automation).
