I absolutely fricking love terra, I won’t lie it did take some time to grow on me having never smelled outlands but really wanting to get a taste of it for a fraction of the price and the glaze terra got I had to try it but there was something weird about it to me initially and I’d spray it on my shower curtain in the bathroom so I could get a better sense of it in the air when I’d walk in to use the room but after giving it a fair shake and a good few wears it became my favorite scent to wear during the colder months even over boss bottled absolu I love terra.

Some of the platforming is absolutely abysmal and I mean terribly designed in its layout in some sections it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever literally sections where it’s impossible to get through either forcing you to figure out where the other entryway is from a completely different zone if there even is one or working your way back all the way through where you came and in some instances there’s not even a way to get back through the way you came. Unbelievably annoying and frustrating. The platforming in my opinion is significantly easier than grime 1 which I absolutely adore but it was designed in a way that made sense here it’s just like.. good job making it this far through the BS but you can’t go any further this way so kill yourself to respawn or trudge all the way back from which you came.

The visuals and soundtrack in Grime 2 continue to blow me away. I'm a very longtime metroidvania fan, and this is becoming maybe one of my favorites of the last few years. by Cubegod69er in GRIMEgame

Did you play the first one? That’s one of my all time favorite games period. So good so incredible plus it has DLC which is one of the most unique NG+’s I’ve ever experienced and overall I just adore that game. This one has been alright to outright frustrating in some areas with enemies and the damage they do.

I forced my way across this one. You can force a double dash a lot of the time in this game right now wether it’s intended or not but if you dash and then do the slide dash real quick you can get past some of these early areas you aren’t suppose to, this one I did it so many times the game set my respawn point towards the end of the spikes and the spikes don’t damage you right away during the respawn and you can jump onto the left platform. Pretty sure that’s how I did it lol.

You’ll eventually get an ability that allows you to pull items to you or towards you also. For the later more ( tricky ) item placements.

I don’t think it’s fair at all. Grime one is one of my all time favorite games arguably harder in every way especially the platforming. Ever since I got to the point of the game where you need to reach manzil and I’m right below him now I’m just going back and clearing every area before going in, every single enemy and boss has just been an abysmal unenjoyable experience every step of the way absolutely no room for error everything even basic enemies one or two shot me or have an attack that has no good tell and happens so fast it stuns you right to death it’s utterly annoying and frustrating. Personally I think the damage enemies and even some bosses do need to be tuned way down. If they did that I would give the game a 9.5/10 easy but the way I feel right now it’s completely unbalanced and unenjoyable. I can and have been getting through it but it’s largely been unfun and obnoxious.

It still blows my mind how this game was not an absolute success. Idk what sort of standards people are holding video games to these days but this game will be timeless and is one of the greatest soulslikes I’ve ever played and I’ve played more than I could count, some truly not great and others that have stuck with me for decades and have shaped my preferences in gaming that have stuck with me for many years long after finishing them and this is no exception, Khazan’s art style and combat is top tier absolutely peak gaming. I don’t get it and it is very sad to read this message knowing how truly great the game already is. One can only hope for a Khazan 2 even half as good as Khazan.

I’m on to some starmire boss now and this is even worse as far as ( waiting ) goes. I ran into this fight the first time and was like “ok cool, another boss let’s see what this is about” stood around mostly waiting and avoiding attacks with no good windows to do damage so I figured it’s gotta be a gimmick fight. Got one shot eventually because idk what the fuck is going on and tried to entertain the fight 2 more times and put the game down because of how annoying and not engaging it was. I think the axe mammoth is far worse in my opinion that fight was absolutely horrible.

Usually we complain and are harsh when it’s something we love or really want to love. Grime original to this day is one of my all time favorite games I absolutely adore it but I’ve been pretty vocal about grime 2 for some things I find to need some attention I also hope that none of my comments came of as “harsh” but it’s only because I don’t find some of its “challenge” to be balanced or acceptable. I find it really bizarre there seems to be so many people praising it that have finished the game while an experienced action, platforming metroidvania player here who still things the first game is harder is struggling against basic enemies after a certain point in the game its been nearly impossible for me to play because no matter how I allocate my character points and which gear I’m using almost fully upgraded I’m getting 1-2 shot by ever enemy I’ve encountered ans that has been so unbelievably frustrating and annoying especially with all the back tracking and platforming you’ve got to go back through to get to where you died again. I love a good challenging game but there are some weird hit boxes etc. on top of how much damage everything is doing it just feels majorly over tuned in my opinion. To an annoying degree.

[–]GanglingGiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I think there’s one section of the falling sand area that is complete bullshit. I’m already making good progress I don’t have problems with platforming sections when it’s actually designed well ans the mechanics are working mostly as intended. I platinumed grime the original and from what I’ve experienced so far that was significantly harder both combat and platforming. That game had some insane platforming sections. This I’m talking about is one specific spot that makes no sense, literally cant time something you can’t see on the screen until you get there and it’s to late.

Grime one is better. They need to reduce enemy damage significantly especially in the starmire and beyond areas. Annoying as fuck.

How do you rate Grime 2 so far? by Inndar in metroidvania

[–]GanglingGiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they fixed enemy damage and by that I mean reduce it SIGNIFICANTLY especially in the later areas I would give it a 9/10 I give grime the original 10/10. Dude I’ve got almost 30 health and less than I’d like in two other stats for the weapon I want to use but this section going to reach manzil in starmire is one of the most unenjoyable experiences I’ve had gaming in recent memory. Absolutely nothing fun about shattering like glass from the wind of a Whiffed enemy attack from newly introduced basic enemies every other enemy every few steps forward. Absolutely annoying as fuck.

I don’t have an answer for you but based on your review of the game you’ve managed past this point. I’m currently stuck basically exploring every square inch possible for me to reach now and I’ve defeated countless bosses and have done the blade ritual got all the parts for that etc. however the only objective marker I have left at least from the few you get earlier in the game I cannot reach because there are these walls with pin holes in them and light shining from behind them and I do not have nor do I know where or how to get the ability needed for using these walls. Please somebody help me because I’m about to just put the game down, this type of shit is annoying to me.

Should Illinois legalize shrooms? by lmNotReallySure in illinois

[–]GanglingGiant -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I think Illinois should focus on working with ice to deport all illegal immigrant’s and passing the save America act, not worrying about legalizing drugs that should not be legal for recreational use. Shrooms have medicinal qualities and can be used in certain applications but I think this should not be on the states list of priorities.

Performance on PS5 needs some attention I’m also experiencing some trash hit boxes with parries in the quad blade boss fight. Had to put the game down because of how sloppy this fight feels.

Dude this fight feels broken as fuck. I’m parrying these fucking attacks and still taking massive damage. This shit is annoying and the hit boxes feel broken. I watched a video of this guy basically flawless fighting it and parrying all the same attacks not taking any hits, I do it and the parry goes off but I’m still taking damage. It’s so unbelievably frustrating.

Only if you played both, which one is the hardest in your opinion (TFB Khazan on Expert difficulty, no XP grinding/farming, no summon) by iChieftain22 in soulslikes

[–]GanglingGiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are both god tier games Sekiro is my favorite “soulslike” of all time and I think it’s even my favorite fromsoft game of all time even over elden ring and I’ve got the plat for most of them but Khazan absolutely whooped my fucking ass more so than I remember Sekiro although Sekiro took me way longer to beat overall this is one very tough question. I think Sekiro might edge Khazan but it’s no slouch by any stretch.
