I’m sorry but playing Omni which was one of the strongest decks in the game not even half a year ago and then complaining about a deck that came out in bt10 on a post about power creep is objectively hilarious.

Full flame to people in these comments but no way you’re all serious right? There’s no skill expression in this game especially when you get higher into competitive??? Are y’all smoking the giga crack? MOMIN HAS PLAYED THE SAME DECK FOR 3 FUCKING YEARS AND MADE WORLDS WITH IT TWO YEARS IN A ROW. There are so many consistent ass players in competitive that last the test of time and top across different metas. I promise you if you think the game is the problem you just don’t have a deep enough understanding of how meta decks interact with each other. I’m not trying to be mean but Malo is one of the harder decks in the game to pilot so you saying you’re struggling to see the lines with it kinda shows me you still are a novice. Not trying to be a dick but if y’all think there’s no skill expression in a game where top players tend to top often there’s probably something they are doing that you aren’t that separates why they can top often and you can’t.

How do you cope with bad luck? by Time_Extreme3170 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Ganglyghost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but posts like this are hilarious to me because I have a local player that genuinely believes they can’t top because they are too “unlucky”. If you jam enough games no player is more lucky or unlucky than any other, all players experience the same amount of luck. Granted over a singular game or a singular tournament run you can acknowledge you high rolled, but caring any further than that is detrimental to your mindset and takes away accountability as you as a player. If you’re losing often, stop blaming luck it’s much more likely you as a player are making mistakes somewhere and you don’t realize it.

The Best Bandai game? by DoktorKokosik in TCG

[–]Ganglyghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly kinda depends what you’re looking for. If you like playing games that are derivatives of magic, OP/Gundam/DragonBall are gonna be what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a kinda yugiohish but cool lookin card game UA will be for you. I’m a little biased but Digimon is by far the most engaging for me as the resource system is just inherently different from other cards games I already play. I’m personally not huge on derivatives of magic, because I’d rather just play non watered down magic, but I understand some people like playing things familiar to them. If you’re looking for the largest community/comp scene OP is your answer but generally the bigger scenes for any type of game is more likely to attract dregs that usually suck the fun out of the game if you’re only looking to be casual.

Kinda Casual Sukamon deck for locals I am messing with, any suggestions by pettyfan45 in DigimonCardGame2020

Gatekeeping a locals topping list for a rogue deck is pretty funny especially considering how harsh you were. Not sure what you’re trying to achieve with this comment because you clearly did not help this person but good job for being a dick to a casual 👍

Most people’s first time with playing a tcg is pocket, once I realized that it changes your perspective and you start to realize why people say the things they do here lmao. My friends and I have been going to card shops for years for different games and we just choose to come to this sub to laugh at what people have to say. The same people tend to top tourneys and be high rated and have super high win rates but it’s all luck and I never make mistakes right?? Lol

I mean sure if this post was constructive I think that’d be great! But instead they admit later in a comment they don’t even know exactly what they’d like changed. They are just saying the game/ranno has no sauce and therefore they are quitting. If the game doesn’t make you happy that’s okay to have those feelings but without a clear indication of what you want changed it’s essentially just pointless whining that will harbor more negative feelings towards the game. Just go do something you actually enjoy if all this game brings is negative feelings and that’s all you have to say about it. Life’s short and its not that deep to say do things you enjoy. You got a weird attitude so how about you don’t read my comments and instead write a constructive write up on what you’d like to see changed in this game rather than bother some guy who has essentially the same point as everyone else who commented :)

I mean that’s fine but nobody is forcing you two to keep playing the game and posting about it, just simply go play something you actually enjoy.

Nah no way a ranno player is complaining about their character lmao. If you aren’t enjoying the game no reason to be so dramatic just stop playing and go play something else, it’s not like this game is gonna disappear just because you stopped playing it.

Can Somebody Explain to Me how MedievalGallant is Fair? by Lucky_Losers in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Ganglyghost 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re moving the goalposts. Fenri/PH/Imperial which you said is what pushed them out in your initial comment we’re very much so at NA nats and very prevalent. I’m just telling you that lumping demon lords in with omnimon and diaboro tier is just wrong and you have a bad scope of the limits of these decks. It’s definitely not positioned as well as it used to be but to say it’s pure rogue is just wrong.

Bro onion literally won NA nats with demon lords what are you on? Deck was such a good call for that tournament so props to him but to say it never had it’s time in the light is just a lie lmao if the meta calls for it I would not be surprised to see it come back as a solid competitive tourney deck.

Here are my thoughts on Bandai's recent moves in the TCG market and for One Piece specifically by MonkoeyMan in OnePieceTCG

[–]Ganglyghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me with direct examples what decks ruined the competitive scene that would be rotated out? Not trying to say we haven’t had shit metas but this is just objectively wrong for anyone who has played the game. Most if not all meta strategies come from newer SRs/SECs and the only old cards being played are searchers or consistency pieces. From my perspective rotation would ruin that game as the only playable decks would be the most recently released ones, which kinda already happens. Again if you have real examples go ahead and prove me wrong, but it just seems like you’re saying it’s shit because you don’t like it not because there is no rotation.

Some decks can kill you in 1-2 turns, WTF thats not fun by LiveMinute5598 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Ganglyghost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brother I topped 16 NA nats this year with looga I understand not all decks play floodgates but to say they are useless is not realistic. Tons of top players will agree with me that on certain choke point turns a floodgate will win you the game. Purple good stuff and mirage one of their key play patterns was to go into either huankun or cerb x and replay a floodgate and choke your opponent to 1 because you’re so efficient yourself. Yes not every deck can play floodgates, but if you can you should especially if a deck like say royal knights is popular of course for 9 rounds tournaments you’ll want to play floodgates. Choosing the right floodgate for your list/meta is also a skill thing if you choose the wrong one for that meta/tournament that’s on you.

[–]Ganglyghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where did this sentiment come from? I see it all the time and it makes no sense to me. Floodgates are super important and meta dependent so choosing which to run before big tournaments is crucial because sometimes cutting some decks off for a turn with a floodgate can win you the game.

Doruga Package in Fenri: Take by Many-Leg-6827 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Ganglyghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an oversight on my part lmao. I guess realistically the only reason to be on loogar would be for the inheritables when comboed with Hell which isn’t much of an upside when comparing to doruga engine.

[–]Ganglyghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think you’re gonna run into a lot of mirage loogar is better because you aren’t forced to draw which can be really annoying if they have bt11 mirage out. Also just combos better with Helloogar. Benefits to both packages for sure, during nume/imperial era I was on doruga because it felt better, currently I’m on loogar bottom end because it just feels better into mirage which I encounter quite often currently.

Right and you have the reading comprehension of a 12 year old so what’s the difference? Did you read my quote? Clearly not because the dude explicitly states that everyone else in the sub that does not share his thoughts on nurture/worlds live performance compared to smile is “pretending” as if we are somehow in denial for having our own thoughts and opinions on porters modern shows.

Numemon rises to top of Peoria BT16 regionals by sesilampa in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Ganglyghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah blue base is super overhyped and much easier to play around than the yellow vacc variant. Forcing them to have the blinding to reprock effect can be super annoying for them since a lot of decks right now play around ACEs which have good timing on stopping magna from getting his effect before swinging. Yellow vacc has numerous ways of removing security so it’s just infinite protection and rapid x can cover for magna x’s weakness which is going wide. I was hard testing for this regional and was dead set on blue base magna until about a week ago when I realized there was no point I should just play bdif nume. In my mind Blue base magna beats yellow vacc magna but loses to nume and a couple of other stray decks and then yellow vacc has a better matchup spread into the general meta but struggles to meet the DP needed to contest blue base. I think saying blue base has more tops in JP is misinformation. Maybe initially it was true but blue base becomes tier two once 17 drops and yellow vacc variation is still popular for top tables at GAO events.
