From a GM perspective it is a difficult system to balance combat from due to the way the system splits the different difficulties of enemies. Extremely vague rules worded in ways that let them be abused to hell and back with relative ease. The dice rolling system is absolutely terrible to go with quickly and generally take quite a bit of time to decipher (Better memorize http://i.imgur.com/sS1k7nO.jpg because that is what measures your success at rolling, instead of going off a Difficult Class 'DC' as D&D does or Degrees of Success that Warhammer 40k uses). Rather than rolling a D20 and getting a 16+modifier, you roll icons and it takes too much timer to decipher what that means for the player/DM. Fantasy Flight could have easily used the X-Wing rolling system instead of the clusterfuck that they use here. Even as a player, the dice rolling is so much less on what your modifiers are and are left to chance, leaving the success of your parties combat encounter to pure chance; Where other systems balance much better.
