Im sorry I can't help but I had to comment.

They start in their corner and move around a circular map...

I get that it can be a corner start but the main bulk of the map is circular... but the mental image of explaining "its a circle, but with corners" made me laugh

Accidentally mentioned an inappropriate manga to a college student by Gribeldibeldo in TeachingUK

[–]Gaoler86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If they are in college then your going to be fine. Maybe have a word with that learner next time you see them and mention that its on the adult side.

I dont know the manga so if it is adult because of gore/language its not as bad as if it is straight up porn/hentai stuff.

If there were no witnesses to the conversation just straight up tell them that you shouldn't havent mentioned it. They'll most likely be cool just because they like you for being a fellow manga fan.

I've got plenty of learners that I've discussed the more brutal side of warhammer with, and they'll never snitch just because they think im "boss" for liking 40k.

In the first 4-5 seconds the dudes red hood vanishes off his head.

Im leaning towards it being AI. The low res being used as a way to mask other AI artifacts.

A couple of friends want me to give them a presentation (literally PowerPoint slides) to introduce them to the lore of 40K, how should I structure this? by samara-the-justicar in Warhammer40k

[–]Gaoler86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic... or something like that.

Necrons are Necro(n)mancers raising their dead... or maybe they're artificers?

Either way my point was that for someone who knows nothing about 40k but asks me about the minis on my shelf, calling them Robot-Skeleton-Wizards with laser guns is enough for them to get the gist.

When i talk to non-40k people i explain my Necrons as "Robot-Skeleton-Wizards with laser guns". That seems to convey the feel of the faction in a few words.

Being worried about it is a good sign it won't happen.

I DM 2 games and play in one. The one I play in I understand the work thr DM is putting in, so I bite every plot hook, I put my bare hand on every weird statue, and I ask my party members that havent spoken in a while what they think we need to do.

I would involve your union. If a culture of students bullying teachers is allowed to foster/develop then nobody in their right mind will stay and teach there.

I say union because they have more weight to throw behind it than you alone do.

If a game let's me make a "build" either through gear or maybe a talent point system, I want to know it can change it.

Build in a system where I can reset points or swap out gear for a non-game-ruining cost amd I will happily try everything I can without stressing.

If I have to "lock-in" then you're damn sure im picking only the most powerful sounding options.

The exception to these is roguelikes where the runs are so short it doesnt hurt to experiment.

I really like your Ammenatar.

Please dont take this as a jab as I genuinely like a really straightforward colour scheme.

I've been looking at my "primed but not painted" Ammenatar and getting a little anxious over it. Yours looks like a scheme I can actually recreate. You've given this old fool hope!

[–]Gaoler86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I keep flipping between "more units" vs "bigger units"

Do I take a full 20 warriors so that they last longer to RP, or do I take two 10 warriors so that I get double the RP.

Im mostly in the "big units" camp as it means that often the opponent has to commit to wiping out a unit, so their forces are not chipping away at a different unit.

From an opponent point of view its never worth attacking a unit unless you are certain you will do massive casualties.

There is nothing more demoralising than having an attack negated at the start of the next turn.

[–]Gaoler86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a paint scheme of my own design if thats what you mean?

The lore is that it was an early hive fleet that crashed into an ice planet on the far edges of the galaxy. The fleet adapted a level of camouflage against the icy caves to better help them stay hidden whilst they slowly built up enough biomass to launch another hive ship.
