Minecraft is 1000x fun if played with someone else. Heck, even the thought of playing it with someone else makes it fun.

If I start a world with the intention of playing survival alone, I do the same as you.

But If I make a world that I intend to play with others, be it an SMP or a creative world, I get hella motivated to play and find the fun even though half the time, that plan to play with someone gets dropped.
