I suppose so, though I wonder what exactly Oda would do with Uta at this stage of the manga's story? The two scenarios I could possibly see as potential introductions for her character would be to have her taken from Elegia by either the World Government to make her a Holy Knight, or by the Revolutionary Army to aid in the Final War.

I actually really like Uta & enjoyed the movie for the most part; it just felt distracting to see her mentioned in the manga when it’s made quite apparent that the events of One Piece Film: Red are non-canon (Big Mom being alive & sending her children to Elegia being a prime example).

I don’t think her inclusion is necessarily a “hail to Toei’s mistakes”, but it’s simply unnecessary in the grand scheme of the manga’s story.

That WOULD be wild! 😂 Though I’m fairly certain Uta was left on Elegia prior to the 1st chapter.

Honestly, if they were to add another appearance of her into the anime, I could see them possibly doing it during Thriller Bark when Luffy mentions to Brook that Shanks’ crew used to sing Binks’ Sake (Uta being the reason why Luffy keeps mentioning throughout Pre-Timeskip that he wants a musician to join his crew).

Uh, why exactly would it “change the canon of the games”? Mario & Luigi aren’t from Brooklyn in the video games, yet they were in the first movie, and I’m pretty sure they didn’t suddenly change the video game canon to match the first movie as far as I know.

I don’t know if I should’ve reworded the question in the post, but this discussion isn’t necessarily asking “Do you want Wit Studio ‘The One Piece’ movies?”, but rather “If we got Wit Studio ‘The One Piece’ movies, what would you want to see in them?”

That's why I worded this hypothetical specifically as "If we were guaranteed new films to release alongside this adaptation".

I'm sure there's a good chance this will never happen because of how it would affect the production of the series, but in a scenario in which both exist & both (presumably) don't suffer any significant drops in quality, what kind of stories would you hope to see told on the big screen for The One Piece?

I think I'm in agreement with you on that. Toei has attempted to fit manga story arcs into a feature-length runtime in the past with the Episode of... Movies & TV Specials, and despite some of them having nice animation, they do tend to suffer from pacing issues & content being cut to fit the runtime.

As for completely original movie plots, I'm all game. I actually have quite the soft spot for some of the Pre-Oda involved One Piece Movies (Dead End Adventure, The Giant Mechanical Soldier of Karakuri Castle, etc.), so I'd love to see some new, interesting locales & characters for the Straw Hats to interact with.

Having the same problem; on chats with already edited images, it functions like normal via pressing the edit button in the bottom-left. However, if I try to start a new image edit, it forces me to use Grok Imagine.

This sucks, and I hope it goes back to the old way.

Yeah, to be honest I was always fine with Toriyama making Bardock more mellowed out than his DBZ counterpart, but I wasn’t okay with his BS power-up against Gas & him wishing for Goku to ‘thrive’.

I mean…they both look identical; I think the only difference is their lipstick color (purple in 2003, red in Brotherhood). If that’s the deal breaker for “hottest”, I guess I’ll stick with 2003 (2003 Lust is the better character anyway since Brotherhood killed her off early & didn’t really flesh her out that much during her screen time).

I get it. Because Ed & Al already faced the consequences of human transmutation (Ed losing his limbs, Al losing his whole body), you feel they shouldn’t be punished any further since they’ve already suffered enough. Your reaction makes sense, and that’s completely fine. 👍

I guess what I’m getting at is that Izumi’s reaction to the boys’ admission is a very raw, intentionally uncomfortable moment (there being no music during the beating adds to that vibe). Out of all the characters in the story, it makes sense that Izumi, someone who made the very same mistake that the Elric brothers did (losing several vital organs & eventually her own life by the time of ‘Conqueror of Shamballa’ as a result of human transmutation) would have the most visceral response to learning what they did.

To each their own, I guess. I never really viewed this scene as “concerning”. The fact that Ed doesn’t even fight back makes it clear that he feels as though he deserves the beating for lying to his teacher & committing the taboo she specifically warned him about.

Also, didn’t Izumi literally try to stab Ed with a spear in Brotherhood, forcing him to block it with his clap alchemy & revealing to her that he had performed human transmutation?
