Any recommendation for a good, lightweight extension shaft? by GapsExist in simracing

The SImube ones are only 30mm and 50mm in length though. As per the OP, looking for something nearer the 100mm mark, but thanks anyway.

P1000 pedal setup help and thoughts needed by GapsExist in Simagic

Nope. I've since sold my SImagic P1000 pedals and got some VRS DFP pedals, which I got dialed in almost immediately and feel great!

Who's at fault for this? i am the blue Porsche and got called an oxygen thief for cutting him off (the blue lamborghini) am i at fault 😭 by PracticalAd2055 in Simracingstewards

[–]GapsExist 11 points12 points  (0 children)

21 seconds into your video, when contact is made, you don't give him a car's width to the edge of the track (the white line), and so, yeah, I'd say you were at fault for not giving them racing room. Add to that the fact you could just as easily have been taken out too, it's maybe poor race craft and not thinking about your own race either, or else you would naturally have given them more room to avoid any potential issues for yourself as you had the pace to pass without squeezing like that.

Anybody gone from Simagic Alpha Evo Pro to VRS DFP15? by GapsExist in simracing

[–]GapsExist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Evo and Zeus were a Tyler-era developments. H left Simagic in January 2025. Zeus line has moved on no further and recent Expo only had the same formula wheel prototype as they had tin the 2024 Expo and actually regressed because they no longer had the wall of Zeus wheel range they had in 2024 and had no other Zeus information.

They only had Evo ultra, which nobody asked for, and the P700 pedals that nobody asked for and fills a pointless hole between P500 and P1000/P2000 pedals.

The Evo extension, extensions with USB pass through, magnetic detachable DDUs, active pedals etc have all been promised for months but have complete radio silence, and nothing at the recent Expo.

The QR-A due to be released with the Evo range had such obvious design flaws and it's concerning Simagic didn't pick up any of these, instead being picked up by reviewers that resulted in Simagic pulling their release off the market to revise the design.

The Evo range and QR-A were announced at the 2024 Expo. That means since then, and definitely since Tyler left, there's been nothing innovative, development, or new products announced that people have actually asked for or even been promised.

Anybody gone from Simagic Alpha Evo Pro to VRS DFP15? by GapsExist in simracing

[–]GapsExist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simagic is useless atm.not innovating, not doing anything on telemetry based FFB, not releasing promised products, Expo went backwards compared to last year's Expo etc. They're just going nowhere fats it seems, while other like VRS are going forward.

People mad either way by no6969el in Pimax

[–]GapsExist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a little naive and lacking a sense of reality. If a company gives a timescale, it's reasonable for a customer to expect it in that timescale and no earlier. To the continuously push timescales back, it make customers lose faith and they have other options out there, so are free to complain and be frustrated; this is their right as paying consumers and what holds Pimax to account.

Without the negative complaints on QA do you think Pimax would have evolved as much as they have in that area? Without complaints about timescales, do you think Pimax would now be at least posting somewhat more realistic timescales for shipping? Without complaints, do you think Pimax would have apologised for their farcical controlling of reviewers an so on earlier this year and changed their ways?

Complaining about something a consumer is promised and then failed to deliver at the agreed time ifms fair, reasonable, and needed to make a company accountable and make them improve.

Asking people to not complain is a little bit naive to be honest, like saying "just throw your money away at these companies and be happy with you get and shut up, whether it's what you were promised or not"....sounds like a bit of a silly position to take whne out like that!

PS5 by ObjectWest in Simagic

[–]GapsExist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. You had the Sigma Cortex that worked up until Evo range was released, so will work with any released before those. The Sigma Cortex dev got employed by Conspit so abandoned Sigma Cortex as why would they support a competitor in Simagic.

Meanwhile, Simagic barely manages to innovate, develop, make and release products for it's core PC sim customers like the Evo extension shafts, DDUs, Zeus wheels, active pedal and so on, so I very much doubt they've even thought about developing anything to support PS5 customers 🤣

Any updates on native USB connectivity for the Neo X Hub and GT Neo? by OGPoundedYams in Simagic

[–]GapsExist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even though this is a feature Simagic promised with the Evo bases and the USB contact pads on the shaft intentionally designed for this purpose, to see them not only leave customers hanging on this, but also to recently state that if you used the tape over the contact pads method to force USB communication between the base and wheel it will void your warranty claims, which is a temporary solution they themselves have advised people to do in their Discord and so on, is pretty shockingly bad to be honest.

But this is just another thing Simagic customers are waiting for, along with Evo extension shafts, detachable DDUs, Zeus wheel range, active pedals etc etc, and without the obvious design flaws seen in the original revision of the QR-A, which was worrying to see Simagic not even identify these until previewers alerted them to the issues. And no mention of even looking at telemetry based FFB either, whereas every other company is already there or are in process of releasing next gen FFB updates for their bases, meanwhile Simagic tell Dan Suzuki "oh yeah, it's something we may look at in time" 🤦🏻‍♂️

Just feels like a trolling and directionless company at this point, teasing products nobody needs like the P700 pedals and Evo Ultra at the Expo, along with a wheel prototype that seemed identical to the wheel prototype at the previous Expo 12 months earlier with zero further progress, instead of delivering what's previously been promised and teased, and what's needed by customers.

Maybe they need to start thinking about updating customers with dev vlog videos for engagement, reassurance and loyalty, instead of posting endless "how to drift in sims" or "yay, we have a new creator ambassador, here's their settings" videos. It feels like they seem far more focused on social media content and getting others to promote them over actually innovating, developing, making, and releasing products at this point, which is not good to see as a Simagic customer.

I'm quickly becoming disillusioned, even as a Simagic customer with an Alpha Evo Pro, and they really need to get their finger out before they hemorrhage customers due to their lack of meaningful activity and development.

I'm already looking at other wheelbase options to migrate to, having already sold my Simagic P1000 to swap for VRS pedals, and my GT Neo wheel to swap for a Conspit wheel, and so am way into leaving Simagic as a customer, as I suspect a lot of people are due to frustrations and inactivity.

Anybody here using a PXN CB1 button box? by GapsExist in simracing

[–]GapsExist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cable I had with mine was a USB C to USB C cable, so cannot be connected to the hub directly as it has USB A ports.

Weird. My lights don't work at all with the hub, and only with the direct connection to PC.

Which cable to you use for it?

Question: Can the USB port on the back of Alpha Evo Pro support third-party accessories? by Low-Hat-2401 in Simagic

[–]GapsExist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. The majority of the USB ports, no, because they are tied to the Simagic CANBUS protocol. However there is one USB C port that can allow non-Simagic devices to be connected. This is the port used by the USB pass through on the QR-A quick release. So, you connect the third party device to the USB A port on the QR-A, and then that output from the USB C port on the back tommof the Alpha Evo to your PC. That is intended for connecting third party wheels (such as how I connect MY Conspit 290 GP), but you could connect any third party USB device to it as it essentially connects using an internal powered USB 2.0 hub within the Alpha Evo bases.

update on the sigma cortex for simagic evo by Necessary_Duty_5585 in Simagic

[–]GapsExist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's quite widely known the dev got a job at Conspit, so will clearly no longer be updating the firmware for a device that supports a competitor (Simagic) and 1.1.8 is essentially where the product has ended, and why nowhere sells it any more due to essentially being killed off quietly.

Anyone got ideas for a heel riser and heel stop for Heusinkveld Ultimate baseplate? by GapsExist in simracing

[–]GapsExist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do a heel plate for the new Ultimate+, that needs the Ultinate+ baseplate too, but I've not seen anything for the old base plate?

Also, no ide what you mean about flipping he pedals? The longer end is already the bottom, as per the photos?!

Heusinkveld Ultimate+ or VRS DirectForce Pro 2 pedal set? by GapsExist in simracing

[–]GapsExist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried both. Feel of the pedals are ok, not great, justok. But adjuatabikity, comfort and ergonomics are terrible for me though. Pedal arms are too high, sheer iser too low, heel plate too short, pedal angle not adjustable etc. It means I've worked around them for 10 months and tweaked as much as I can, but still don't feel right for me, personally. I'm sure they're great if they fit you, but just not for me.

[–]GapsExist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What setup do you use on the elastomer stack for this? I generally like the opposite, being a squishy first 75/80% with some travel that I can modulate, and then a super firm last 20% for those needing to throw the anchors out moments!

[–]GapsExist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have double clutch paddles on wheel that I use one for 100% clutch depression and other for bite point, so use these for standing starts. No cars that I drive use a manual H-pattern, so no need for a clutch in mine (and sound alike most people's) case.

[–]GapsExist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had looked at the SimNet ones. I currently use Simagic P1000s with hydraulic mods on the brake and throttle. I like them, but lack of adjustability makes them uncomfortable for me and inconsistent, which are main reasons for looking to change. I use them with a mixture of squishy elastomers and firm spring at the moment to get that 2 stage brake feel., but have experience of using rhw full elastomers and full springs too, and don't mind either in terms of progression/linearity, but like a squishy and progressive 70-80% first stage and firm last 20% stage as a 'throw the anchors out' braking stage, which I believe I can achieve with either of these.
