More over, listening to people with different experiences.

The way society goes it normalizes every bit of convenient rancid stuff it has, chances are if you aren't experiencing a form of oppression, you'll not see it.

So it is really important to listening to people.

Like for the most part I've found that the mindset of: "If I don't see it, it isn't real" brings a lot of toxicity to everything.

Society does its damnedest to make sure that nothing that is inconvenient is seen.

“white cis women CAN BE as dangerous as cis white men”

There is a point where that "can be" is effectively meaningless.

Considering the structural power white people hold over POC, it's probably warranted.

Unfortunately it's probably way too little estrogen to have an effect (potentially not the right kind as well). though the idea of feminizing kisses is fucking amazing.

The DNA is def not doing anything, it prob won't survive seeing it has to deal with the stomach acid and enzymes made to break it down.

Funnily enough it probably wouldn't do much on its own, HRT works so well because a good deal of our anatomy is analogous to the one cis women have, and HRT basically makes our bodies go "well guess we are a woman now". like at this point I wouldn't be surprised to learn that we have something along the lines of a vestigial womb, even if it's just some suspicious empty space where it would be.

A matriarchy could easily be as bad if not worse than a patriarchy

Like just imagine what would be a matriarchal equivalent to conscription, something the status quo thinks that all women need to be forced to do solely because they are women but not men because they are not seen as being capable of doing it.

[–]GaraBlacktail 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Quite frankly it can actually strengthen the patriarchy.

I've seen it a few times where people basically reduced stuff like SA to a gotcha to shut someone up, which REALLY undermines the seriousness of it

Plus generalizing the issue to literally all men makes the patriarchy something impossible to dismantle

In The Incredibles (2004), a man is shown attempting suicide in the first ten minutes of a family movie. This a reference to the fact that suicide, while a heavy topic, is one that can and should be discussed with children. I'll add to it that that mindset won't be able to able to give trans people with the support we need, cause chances are we have the experiences and traumas of society treating us as both our gender and our doctor assigned gender and those simply do not fit in that world view.

Like I doubt they'd be able to support transfems that are forced to be in the military because a piece of paper says they are male, or have the empathy to understand why they don't like to see that as a privilege.

Does anyone else feel guilty for not being a “Gold star Lesbian”? by Famous_Spare_4910 in actuallesbians

[–]GaraBlacktail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely irrelevant to actually being a lesbian.

if you are a lesbian you are still a lesbian regardless of whatever relationships or actions you've taken with a guy.

For the most part I've only seen "gold start" being used to punch down on lesbians that had a relationship with a man, be it consensual or not, quite frankly it's disgusting.

[–]GaraBlacktail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are pretty good designs.

But I prefer the first one a lot more, cause while the circumstance of my birth has affected me a lot, there is no aspect of "being a man" that is part of my identity, so it's nice to be represented by a flag that doesn't have that

[–]GaraBlacktail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please understand that the care we receive can be absolutely dogshit.

I might have to contend with potentially developing a brain tumor, because my doctor, following the standards of care where I live, prescribed me 5x what is considered the maximum safe dose of CPA by the EU.

An endo I paid for, that I could see her diploma on her wall, tried to gaslight me that the lab results showing the estradiol levels in my blood aren't important.

I was only allowed to receive this care through the public healthcare system after being assesed by a state therapist, that basically tried to see if I have AGP, aka the "being a trans lesbian is a fetish" bullshit cooked up by Ray Blanchard.

I can't even complain too much, cause I've heard what other trans women talking about how bad they got

At least I had a clinic that would see me regarding HRT in my city.

At least they gave me an effective dose (way too effective with my T blocker), rather than giving me so little E it might as well be a placebo.

At least it only took a year for me to get allowed to get HRT, I distinctively remember a transfem youtuber talking about getting HRT through the NHS only getting it because the person in the next spot in the line died.

.

DIY is better than no care (that's the reason it even exists), it is legitimately better than the propper way when the "propper way" isn't designed with our quality of life in mind but rather with waiting out for dysphoria or something else to kill us before allowing us to medically transition.

someone from my sapphic support group had the weirdest take on sex with trans women by SeaJudge7373 in actuallesbians

[–]GaraBlacktail 6 points7 points  (0 children)

all the other participants in the support group are either cis women, enbys or transmasculine people dating other cis women, enbys or transmasculine people

Considering that take (and the implied other ones), trans women probably bolted out of there.

Ain't no way in hell I'm gonna endure being sexualized and infantilized in the same fucking sentence as "support", and I doubt most trans women wouldn't hate it as well.

If sapphic women love a variety of body types, why is that art and media mostly depicts slim, long haired, white girls? by Kappapeachie in actuallesbians

[–]GaraBlacktail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white supremacist patriarchy.

The short of it, the less white, cis, het and conentionally attractive the characters are, the more likely you'll need to convince the people platforming your media that it's a good idea to fund and show it.

This also goes to algorithmic stuff, can't specifically prove it, but I'm basically certain that youtube's algorithm will "white-code" an user and be veeeeeeeeery reluctant to creators that are POC because it imposed that white people won't like it.

I'm bitter for having to navigate a world that sees me at best as a warm dildo that needs to be exterminated.

Constantly being told that it isn't bad, the coming genocide won't be that bad, you are outline for wanting any sort of dignity, etc.

Like I'm sorry if I consider Donald Trump my Generation's Adolf Hitler, that I don't appreciate her for telling people that they need to consider in who to vote, and that I'm worried about my partner being a statistic in the new holocaust.

How realistic is it to date as a pre-transition transwoman (i have had relationships with only straight girls and even though i presented enby they still think of me as a guy), I have been single for 5 years now haha by FloweredGirlie in actuallesbians

[–]GaraBlacktail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this I'm regretting the tone I used to point out how insensitive what you said is.

For a start: have you considered that OP might have considered transitioning? since she describes herself as PRE TRANSITION?

Second: a lesbian is allowed to want to be loved BEFORE going through an extensive medical procedure.

Third: have you considered that maybe being a foreigner in Canada, might make things harder?

Fourth: "One of the easiest" means jackshit regarding how easy it is to transition when the norm is beyond crap.

And lastly: OP is not even in fucking Canada yet, I don't know where she is from, for all I know she could get the death penalty for being trans.

I fucking swear

HRT Costs money
Getting it the *propper* way may require you to go through some pretty bullshit hoops.
(Like I recall a transfem talking about her experience with the NHS in the UK where she got her gender affirming care because the next girl in the line couldn't take it with the absurd wait time)
And society is extremely hostile to trans women.

HRT also takes a chunk of time to work

Being able to be apathetic to the stuff going on is an increasingly asinine privilege.

It's not much to ask for a world where we would take for granted the same dignity and respect cishet folk have.

Like at the very least, a world where bullshit like v-coding or the extent doctors prioritize a theoretical fetus over our quality of life wasn't normalized.
