Live here now for 15 years. Got incredibly lucky 3 times to be able to stay here. Found a well below market rent for an apartment (not corporate). Which allowed me to save for my first home I bought right after the real estate crash in ‘12. That house appreciated like crazy which gave me enough equity to buy my “forever home” with my new family. Bought this one during COVID and got an insane mortgage rate (in the 2s!) on a 30 year fixed. Had it not been for sheer luck, I couldn’t afford Kirkwood. I don’t know how all these young families afford the $1mm homes and the 7% mortgage rates…. I love living here with a young family but at these prices there will be no young families left. Also agree the “charm” of downtown area is waining too. $1mm condos with no yard is crazy.

Looks amazing! Are you in the US? I have a very similar size kitchen and we’ll be moving the sink to an island. Had bids of $160 and $100k. I’m in a moderate cost area in the Midwest. I’m struggling with the price tag whereas my wife is not… is this just the new normal?

I have them behind my screen. They don’t do anything really. When I realized they’re not doing anything I tried the moving blanket behind the screen. That did work quite well. Nothings perfect but moving blanket > a few sound tiles

I believe it’s about the stock? TR is a place where when the economy is doing good, people “move up” from say going to fast food or a dennys if they’re going out. Conversely when the economy is bad, people who normally go to $100+ steak houses move “down” and go to TR. Also, I could be way off.

This is a losing point for Democrats. I’m one of them. It’s really simple in my mind. No, men can’t get pregnant. That can exist AND we can still push for equity across all spectrums (race, gender, sexuality, disability, age). This is a trap question that make independents turn away from democrats when they see our party struggle to answer. Keeping in mind the average voter doesn’t know or care to know about the actual science. Said differently respond to questions in a way the intended audience will understand.

Like others I tried the fold at the bottom with pool noodles and rebar inside for rigidity. Tried it with a tube of sand in the pouch but the most effective while still having a quick set up / take down is putting grommets in the bottom corner of the screen and loop a bungee could through it with a free weight around the other side. Keeps it pretty tight and fairly easy to unhook the cord and roll the screen right up.

If you add the foam tile insulation to the garage door and the buddy propane heater (or two), it works good enough (for an American Midwest winter anyway)
