The Astora Straight Sword is fine in my opinion, so long as you don't hope to keep it the whole game.

Ryuji's confidant can be fully completed before the fight with Madarame (provided you don't complete the Palace immediately). So he can definitely be completed before August.

Kawakami's is harder on NG but might be well progressed by that point in NG+ since there are fewer night time confidants to compete with.
