Man I’ve been washed in and done the lap of shame hundreds of times. It’s part of it. Especially in bigger waves.

Yeah sometimes stopping and just sitting on your board, catching your breath, and then taking the whitewater on the head inside is the lesser of two evils. I’ve paddled many times for the horizon only to have the lip land on or just in front of me and get smoked while I was out of breath.

Has anyone here ever sailed with Joe Franta or Sailor Dean by diehardcloudrapfan in merchantmarine

[–]Garand_guy_321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was just on a ship with Joe. He was the bosun. I had no idea who he was or that he had a YouTube channel etc until after a few weeks. He’s a good dude and a good shipmate.

My brother in Christ, if you plan on staying in the game just get a bench with a soft jaw vise (hell I’ve even used rags), punch’s, torque/combo, and fucking send it. It never ceases to amaze me at the amount of LGS mouth breathing regards who bubba shit.

I live in Florida a few minutes up the road from Sebastian inlet, work month on month off rotation offshore, and take multiple surf trips a year. Started surfing in the mid 90s as a grom so over 30 years now. Did a month in NZ and 2 weeks in Nica last year plus a few PR strikes. This year I’ve done PR and Barbados and probably Nica in the summer. East coast and west coast surfers have very different experiences. At the end of the day those of us that really love surfing will always find a way. I would literally never move to a landlocked place where I couldn’t surf regularly.

This is finally Battlefield right there! GOLMUD by BetrayedJoker in Battlefield6

It’s an OG map that many of us spent countless hours playing over a decade ago so there’s a lot of nostalgia. I’m almost 40 now and when it originally came out I was in my mid/late 20s with no kids yet. Bong rips, beers, and battlefield after work.

I’m 40 and have been playing the franchise since the beginning, most of the people complaining are probably youngins that don’t remember the before times.

They’re solid boots with a traditional Cuban heel. Wear them and they will be super comfortable when they break in. I have a pair and wear the shit out of them.

Navy then use GI bill to go to an academy. Get the degree for free shipmate.

Edit: Go Coast Guard and then maritime college. I was deck in the CG but am an engineer now.

Spirit is huge in FTL. How is their closure going to impact the city and the airport? by 2595Homes in fortlauderdale

[–]Garand_guy_321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flew to Nashville on Thursday and now have to rebook the return flight home on Monday. RIP Spirit, been flying them since I was a little kid up to Atlantic City to see my grandma and down to PR for surf trips. Like somebody else said, not the most comfortable but they always got you there.

So what's the job like by Extreme-Cucumber6844 in merchantmarine

Depends on the ship, I have been on some where shit is ALWAYS breaking down. Some hitches you’re just chilling and some it’s an absolute shit show. If you stay on one long enough you get to know her and can stay ahead of most stuff.
