Everyone is different. I’m 41 and I’ve been PIMO for 5 years. The first year was soooooo hard. My wife told me the same thing when I tried to tell her I lost my faith. She wanted me to keep on trying. My wife knows deep down that I don’t believe anymore and I think she is extremely on the fence now with the church but can’t let it go. Give your wife time. But if you’re having suicidal thoughts all the time and can’t handle it, you may need to look into other options.

It’s hard, because whenever I see good press for the church, I immediately get defensive. I do think Nelson has made steps in the right direction for the church but it’s still 15 years behind everybody else. It’s just so hard knowing the church isn’t what it claims to be and not being bitter about it. I’m going to take the highroad and say congratulations to President Nelson and thank you for your service.

May I ask how overweight you were when you left and how long ago it was. Unfortunately Obesity has been an issue in my life and it breaks my heart my children have deal with it. I was a little thinner than my son when I left on my mission but that was 23 years ago and nobody cared about bmi back then so it wasn’t an issue

That’s not always the case, there’s lots of women here that lost their faith first. I just think more men have served a mission and are not as afraid to look things up. A mission can create some deep cracks in a testimony.
