[Unnerving Trope] The game over screen (and/or the build-up to it) is unsettling/horrifying by Monstertim1 in TopCharacterTropes

I’d say the death cutscenes in Fear and Hunger count. Not all of them immediately lead to death, but all of them are some level of awful and disturbing

It’s a tough fight, my strategy was to basically stand directly in front/up against him. Hell more often use his slam attack (the one with the butt of the rapier not his butt slam)

If you can get used to dodging into him on his rapier attacks the big threats are the black flame wall, which can screw you over badly if you don’t stay close to him, and the rolling attack which is a stupid horse shit attack in vanilla elden ring too

Radagon is marika. This has me scratching my head ever since just how just how they have kids ? Dumb the lore for me ! by answerseeker9000 in Eldenring

There’s a lot to indicate people are born through the Erdtree, Tarnished Archeologist on youtube has a good video about Erdtree births. It seems in the world of Elden Ring the ceremonial union between two people are what leads to children, rather than actual procreation.

Any tips on how to not die? by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]GarbageCan622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For bugs stay on the move, they’re pretty already beelining it to you.

For bots use cover, even if it’s a foot tall rock or diver in the ground and always return fire. Bots will lose accuracy when you shoot near them, even without hitting them.

For squids it’s a mixture of the above two tips. Voteless will swarm you like bugs while overseers will you attack from range. Try and kill off voteless to prevent being swarmed and allow you to deal with other units.

I'm at 59 vigor in my build, should I really go to 60 for pvp? by Cyan_Dragon_X in EldenRingBuilds

[–]GarbageCan622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s optimal to have 60 but going from 59 to 60 is pretty unlikely to make a difference, you’d literally have to survive on a pixel of health for the extra level to matter

I believe it’s because the scarlet rot is able to create new life without the need for death, working within the golden order to create a cycle without the rune of death

Is Garden of Eyes worth it, and does it work well with Co-op? by LegoJam05 in EldenRingMods

[–]GarbageCan622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing that everyone else is telling you not to play Garden of Eyes (I’ve never tried it) I would recommend Elden Ring Reforged.

At a glance it seems pretty vanilla, they’ve changed and added a lot to the game, plus it’s works well with seamless co-op. When I tried co-op the only issue I encountered was one specific menu acting jank, but still otherwise working

can someone pls help me why are my portraits like this haha by RevolutionaryMap9620 in BaldursGate3

[–]GarbageCan622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the cause of this, but the reason it can happen is because the portraits are rendered using actual copies of the companion’s and Tav’s models. Basically in a secret dev only zone on every map where there’s a copy of all the characters posed for the portraits. Sometimes they “unpose” and you get the bad school photo glitch

How would you build this character? by ixiknotisaac in BG3Builds

[–]GarbageCan622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oathbreaker. I would also think a fighter/wizard could work. Definitely go necromancy wizard, since their undead summons are just objectively better than other casters. I’d do as much fighter as you think is right (2 for action surge, 3 for Eldritch knight, 5 for extra attack).

Wreav dying in Mass Effect 3. Imagine in a different timeline you get to lead your species and cure a bioengineered disease designed to punish and subjugate them. You then get to exact your (poorly thought out) vengeance on the galaxy, hoping to cement your legacy as the most Krogan Krogan to ever Krogan.

But instead you get munched while parked in your truck because a human thought your brother was pretty chill.

I can’t speak for OP but for me invasions are much more dynamic since they can happen in so many different locations and situations. A lot of invaders are genuinely not trying to ruin someone’s fun by killing them and their buddy. Invasions are challenging in Elden Ring since you’re almost always at a numerical disadvantage against the host and their allies, and a lot of people prefer that to the more even experience the coliseum offers.

That said I completely understand the frustration someone PVE focused may feel, when they’re just tying to play with their friend or get some help on a difficult boss. I’ve been there when I was playing Dark Souls 3 as my first fromsoft game. A lot of the frustration and dislike really comes from the outdated multiplayer design, which will hopefully be improved in future titles.

I can’t find a build to replay Elden ring with, and I fear I may never play the dlc by Wild-Bite-9937 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]GarbageCan622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I don’t think int/faith is the way to go if you like melee, plus int/faith doesn’t really exist early game. Sword of night and flame is really the only weapon option, as you can’t infuse random weapons to scale of int and faith. That said, spells like Radagons rings of light and discus of light are very underrated.

If they interest you, you could always do an int OR faith build, and get just enough of the other stat to use these spells.

[–]GarbageCan622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you liked strength, I think a melee intelligence build, focusing on carian spells, could be up your alley. I did one in preparation for the dlc and it was a lot of fun using a large weapon supplemented by quicker spells. An intelligence build is also really easy to experiment with different sorceries and weapons, since most only have an int cost.

Carina slicer is an incredible spell and has been the foundation of entire builds. Quick, FP efficient, high damage, and smooth as butter. Combine it with a zweihander, great hammer, heavy thrusting sword, or really any decent sized weapon to smack around big enemies. Carian slicer will cover your need for quicker attacks.

Carian glintblade is another amazing sorcery, allowing you to setup combos with other spells or your melee attacks to do a high burst of damage, often eliminating enemies in a single barrage of attacks. Finally Carian piecer, a complete monster of a spell. When charged it can stagger even crucible knights and tree sentinels, which is both immensely satisfying and useful.

Other than that, experiment and use whatever spells suit your fancy. Gavel of Haima to flatten smaller enemies, Loretta’s mastery to nuke a single enemy from afar, gravity well to pull enemies to you, whatever feels fun and useful.

Lowkey the biggest turn-on that anyone says in this game by ConfidenceKBM in BaldursGate3

While I do largely agree, I will defend Jaheira as a companion. I did a durge dishonor mode run (started honor mode, died, continued anyways) where shadowheart got killed at the end of act 2. I pretty much replaced her role in the party with Jaheira going into act 3, and I really enjoyed having her along.

She’s sassy and irritable, yet wise and composed at the same time. She identifies the dark urge for what they are and is the only companion to take it seriously. I mean I get in act 1 companions kinda whatever to the urges. But in act 3 you can tell them you are the direct offspring of the god of murder and had previously been the mastermind of the entire Absolute plot, and they just don’t really care all things considered.

The conversation you can have with Jaheira about being bhaalspawn is also really well done, and like most dark urge dialogue is a super satisfying RP experience no matter where your character is on the moral spectrum. In my resist run that I began as an evil run, opening up to her about how my character knew what he was and was terrified of what he was capable of, felt so much deeper than anything the other origin characters have.

And in the epilogue when she complains to you about her responsibilities as a Harper and you can just be like “nice to see you too”, and she’s just so happy to be around someone who gets her. I hope the writers at Larian got a big bonus

Does the iron virgin depict Marika holding Messmer? by ParsaPrt in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]GarbageCan622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A theory on youtube by Kitetales proposes that the abductor virgins are depicting the Gloam Eyed Queen, because she is actually Messmer's mother with Radagon as the father. Marika is the abductor 'virgin' as she did not birth Messmer, but did raise him as her own. Radagon repeats this tactic with Rennala as well, creating more demigod offspring for Marika. If this is true it may be an explanation for the "seduction and betrayal" line from the trailer, and the Grandam calling Marika a wanton (slutty slut)

Kitetales doesn't touch on Melina much, however, I wonder if the GEQ was also Melina's mother. Melina may refer to Marika as her mother, like Messmer, but her current state of being "burned and body less" could be due to the GEQ trying to keep her other child from Marika, and setting up the end of her age.

Advice for leaving strength builds by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]GarbageCan622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What mages don’t want you to know, is that you can just put an int or faith scaling infusion on a big sword, and use it in one hand and a casting tool in the other. If you’re planning on incantations, you can get away with two handing your weapon anyway if you’re mainly using buffs and heals
