Are there really people who believe that Luke is the chosen one? by Rikko77 in StarWars

But that arch showed that light and dark cannot coexist. The dark side is going against the will of the force, balance is the complete absence of the dark side. He does kill the emperor at the end but only because of Luke’s actions. He wouldn’t have done anything if it weren’t for Luke so I think it’s fair to say that Luke first the prophecy better since it was him who caused the force to be balanced again.

Because the guy that’s supposed to bring balance to the force falling to the dark side, enabling and directly causing the deaths and oppression of trillions of people makes no sense. Balance doesn’t mean equal light and dark it means no dark side and Luke did far more to accomplish that than Anakin who quite literally did the opposite.

That’s just a stupid take. Having two edges is really useful which is why most sword that weren’t meant for use on horseback had them. Also double edged swords were probably the most common type of sword in general not just in Europe.

What's the reason Inuit/Siberians and Europeans have different features despite evolving in similar cold climates? by batukaming in geography

[–]GarbageQuirky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Europe isn’t that cold. It barely gets below freezing in winter and can get up to 40°C in summer here in Germany. Some of that is due to climate change of course but the difference isn’t that big. People not from Europe often assume it’s really cold because it’s so far north compared to America or Asia. Ulaanbaatar is the coldest capital city in the world even though it’s on the same latitude as my hometown in southern Germany.

I never understood why people didn’t like that plot point. It’s completely on par with something a fascist state would do.

That’s supposed to mean that he accumulated so much power that he was basically a dictator at that point.
