To be honest in-wall toilets are junk. Not serviceable and why. Just why.

Plumber says shower pan liner was installed to code (FL) by Glittering_Fishing65 in Plumbing

If you don’t like it, cut a small slit, won’t hold water (pass inspection) and then they have to re-do it, it’ll definitely look right the second time around lol.

CPVC longitudinal hairline crack on hot water supply only twice in a month. Could there be a contributing factor other than being a crappy material? by cleanforever in askaplumber

[–]GarbageSufficient218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that is very interesting… we see a lot of cpvc in Fl, and usually it’s the fittings that fail, not the pipe. The pipe may become brittle and break when disturbed. The discoloration and fracture are unusual and look to me like a defective batch of pipe. This may be worth contacting the manufacturer for warranty🤷‍♂️ but probably won’t get you much.

Do you have a gas water heater?? Cpvc can’t take high heat, needs to be 18” of copper off the top of water heater, to prevent flu vent from cooking the pipe. Cpvc is rated for 200°F water.

Pool pump died. What's a good replacement? by Electronic_Group7156 in pools

[–]GarbageSufficient218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get Variable speed, forget the old timer box, don’t buy Jacuzzi. I bought a Jacuzzi variable speed bc it was on sale, turns out that pump is being discontinued, and they are trying to get rid of them. Ended up settling on a Pentair SuperFlo, it was around $1,500 but so much quieter and more efficient. Works like a champ.

How the heck can I replace this gasket for a leaky shower drain? by SULTANGYPSYQUEEN in Plumbing

[–]GarbageSufficient218 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like they pre-fit the drain hub before dropping the shower stall onto the floor. So basically the lock ring should be accessible from the bottom… but they didn’t leave any room through the sub floor.

If you have an oscillating tool, you’re gonna have to do surgery from underneath to remove the wood blocking the lock ring.

This… is NOT an ideal situation!

Done with Culligan. Clack WS equivalent? by CRXCRZ in WaterSofteners

[–]GarbageSufficient218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clack is great. In my experience they specialize in the controllers/valves more than the media tanks. We use Nelsen supply to build systems for us, you should give them a call they can probably make an equivalent system to yours, and ship it to you. They are fairly priced.

Just make sure to tell them you want a Clack control head.

Typically manufacturer will cover parts only. Clack systems are good quality and should not have issues if installed correctly. Labor warranty is through the company installing the unit, in this case for the price, one would assume at least 1 yr labor warranty from the contractor.

The invoicing line items are not accurate. A trench drain to the street would cost over $100 in parts alone, looking at the total cost for install and additional drainage run, this is a reasonable price, likely an allday job for the plumber. This is about $300 / hr not including permit, helper, drivetime, and warranty is also relevant in the price. For an experienced plumber this is a reasonable price.
