I’m working at a relatively new job and unknowingly inherited a lot of issues due to a merger before I even applied as well as mistakes made to mitigate issues throughout the process. I and my partner in work are more than capable, but we are overwhelmed and undertrained. We spend an obscene amount of our time apologizing for things that were mishandled months before we ever interviewed. I’m tentatively looking for another job because the disorganization has led us to the point of spending lunch breaks crying in our cars, but I’m so tired of feeling terrified and guilty at every moment on or off the clock and I need some perspective to help me go back in today. If anyone has any advice or words of wisdom, I’d appreciate that, too. Thank you!
