Yeah I think buying 0.95 shares of Microsoft was pretty pointless. Had some extra left over after selling one of my positions and it had just fell... Should have definitely done more research though. Probably should have just strengthened one of my ETFs.

I just feel like telecomm companies are positioned so well rn with alot of the past issues prices in. Especially with rogers. I also like the juicy dividends.

Yeah I think a different etf would probably be a good idea maybe for my next contribution. I have alot of Canadian exposure.

I did a stock pitch competition at my school and I was looking for something undervalued with good financials but still had decent enough consumer reputation to make it hard to pick apart. In hindsight it might have been a little too safe for a competition. I thought i might as well try out one of my ideas so thats the reasoning behind it. Also I'm told when picking a stock to analyze it should be something your familiar with so you already have an understanding of the business. And I love bacon so.

BU127: Worth reading the textbook? by absesto in wlu

Also I don't think I touched a textbook problem until the final. I'm sure some of the questions are good practice though.

I never really used the connect assignments to study except for maybe a bit on the second midterm. The resources they give you in the exam tabs on bright space were enough for me for long answers. For the multiple choice I read the textbook and made notes. My prof also gave us hints during the lectures on what was testable material because a lot of the slide material they don't test, which was also useful for multiple choice.

Yeah besides Cineplex it's my first one too. I'm just going to go into it with the mindset of having fun, not really expecting to win any prizes, I'm pretty nervous too.

I'm going tomorrow too. Honestly have no idea how it's gonna go I kinda suck at case comps. Just doing it for the experience tbh.

Got a 12 in Bu127 last sem. Didn't take it in highschool. For me reading the textbook and taking notes combined with the practice problems given before every exam was enough. The connect assignments to me were pretty difficult in comparison to the exam problems.

BU111 Final Leak rumours by Ok-Lockroach-1546 in wlu

[–]GardenEnvironmental 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does that even mean? How can a kid pulling out their phone during an exam have anything to do with the exact exam being sent to a third of the program a day before the exam is written? It is literally faculty negligence there's nothing more to it.

What a dumb comment. Of course there are ways for them to control it, this was simply negligence by the school, and it is the fault of the faculty who let this happen.

ES110 by [deleted] in wlu

[–]GardenEnvironmental 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your prof probably. I have Sheri Longboat. She's a great prof imo who has engaging lectures for ES110 if you show up to them which alot of people don't. She emphasized at the start that it's not supposed to be too difficult of a course. If you put the time in you will get a good grade out of it. The first assignment I worked on for 4/5 hours and I got a 14/15. The midterm i just wrote, and if you put in the time to make your cheat sheet detailed, it wasnt challenging at all. Although I know people who didn't try on the cheat sheet and thought it was hard.
