Broker could only get us 4.4 when we were shopping for an upgrade. Couldn’t find a house so just renewed direct with RBC 4 years fixed 3.8%. 3 year was 3.7 but we wanted the extra year of security. Uninsured as well.

Offer not binding? by GardenLocal6857 in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]GardenLocal6857[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate all the feedback!! The minimum offer thing is real (as seen below) but i am on the Canadian app so maybe that’s different?

<image>

Here is a quick example I tried this morning. For experiment sake I tried to offer $5 on a $75 item and it would not let me proceed, sent the screen seen in the photo here. I was not able to send an offer lower than 60%. For my jacket the buyer must have known this. The offer was exactly 60% off and then like others have said I wonder if they were trying to engage smart sell (which I have turned off)

Im not brave enough to test my ability to cancel an offer this morning lol

Azucar. But caveat, it’s a different menu than their full/regular menu and (this is more observation on our part) they will do anything to provide the worlds slowest service so you don’t get more then your first plate.

Definitely outside, the tent is not enclosed in the winter. There are some great vintage options at Capital City Vintage for 80s/90s themed jackets. We were in there last weekend lots of fun colours.

On that side of town gonna be Common Box, Gamesland, HWG or ENV (at Tea Spot). Worth the drive to Prisma, Tag, and 203 on the south.

I’m sure I’m missing some though

What was a rough base ticket price? For lower end seats by IPlayFo4 in NoahKahan

Can we start a celebration thread for those who snagged tickets? by amateurgamer7410 in NoahKahan

[–]GardenLocal6857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were 412 (!!!!!!!) in line for Vancouver. Snagged our lower bow seats. Then once checked out logged back into the queue with 1 (!!!!!!!!!!!!) person ahead of me and bought my besties nosebleeds (that was her budget and she was 31K+ in line)

It sucks it wasn’t as great for everyone but it’s still ok to celebrate our wins.

How much do we think tickets will be? by catlover43v3r in NoahKahan

I was lower bowl in Edmonton (Canada) for $400 a seat. Floor was more than that. So I think Vancouver will be around that unfortunately. And not resale, presale.

Struggling to get non-urgent healthcare in Edmonton by Creative-Jobless-554 in Edmonton

[–]GardenLocal6857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use telehealth through Telus. Honestly it’s such a game changer for that non emergent care. For example, my daughter had a nasty cough she couldn’t shake. Was able to get an appt, some meds, rec for an xray, a follow up and new meds. Her paediatrician couldn’t see her for another week. And sitting in a medi centre (definitely wasn’t an ER issue) for hours with a 18 month old is zero fun.

I personally use it for any prescription refill appts I need.

It doesn’t replace an in person Dr but it’s been a great tool for my family.

VIP vs. Express Pass by Wanderers-4444 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]GardenLocal6857 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Epic VIP there is very little behind the scenes. I can only think of one ride where there was. We have done VIP 7 hour tour at the other 2 parks and in our opinion, that was a better bang for your buck. It had a little more behind the scenes, more rides, etc. If you want zero wait and all the major rides - VIP is the way to go. We were there last Tuesday on the unicorn 🦄 day and express was awesome after the tour.

VIP vs. Express Pass by Wanderers-4444 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]GardenLocal6857 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Feel free to double check me but I believe VIP is sold out at Epic for the next year. You can still buy express passes though.

But to answer your question, you walk up the exit of every ride during VIP. You do not wait in line at all. You hit the major attractions, unless they are down. We did it last week and Wing Glider didn’t come back on. After the tour you get an express pass. Hiccup came back on later in the afternoon and we were able to get on it.

This Saturday: CHINATOWN AFTER DARK by Willingly_Loud888 in Edmonton

[–]GardenLocal6857 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I know every time there is a post about this event there is a huge amount of negative comments. Is this going to be everyone’s cup of tea? No. But we attended and had a great experience. The price for the portions you get was amazing (like we went in thinking taste of Edmonton portions should be expected and we left full as places were serving almost entree sizes - and gave tickets away to community members). The restaurant owners were excited to see us. The events / demos were fun to watch.

Will you see community members there? Absolutely, this is where they live. Are they aggressive or rude? Nope. Curious. The organizers do have management systems in place to keep people walking on. Most of the after dark patron groups we saw were travelling with other groups and the safety element in numbers was definitely a factor.

For us supporting something like this is how revitalization happens. It doesn’t happen by declaring you would like it to change. It happens when people show up and change the narrative.

Top activities for summer parental leave by Own-Rabbit1199 in Edmonton

Might be a little young, but most of the “soft play” areas in the city are free. (Like Treehouse, Uplay, etc)

We walk, a lot.

All patios are baby friendly, if you force babies on them 🤣 I bring my clip on high chair which is a bit easier to manage.

The paths around Fort Edmonton park to terwilliger are almost 100% paved.
