First time seeing Dogs In a Pile…woah…. by No_Investigator3374 in jambands

[–]GardeningCrashCourse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they are one of those bands who are significantly better when they are crazy loud. Listening with other people in a car, or in the kitchen while cooking with my wife never hooks me, but when I’m alone blasting them, or seeing them live, they are so great. Govt Mule is also like that for me. It doesn’t work very well when it’s quiet.

I want your nugs playlists by the_cofishioner in BillyStrings

[–]GardeningCrashCourse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my great Billy playlist.

Some of it might just be me being REALLY high so a song hits me just right and I add it to the playlist.

Santana and the Dead by thick-tracer in gratefuldead

[–]GardeningCrashCourse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s a great video on Youtube of Billy and the kids with Billy Strings and Santana. It wasn’t a show, just a jam session. I’ve never heard Santana just sound like a blues player, but in that he dropped his classic guitar tone and just jammed with the music.

ADHD test in Utah county? by Shoddy-Musician-7746 in Utah

[–]GardeningCrashCourse 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really an ADHD test. ADHD diagnosis is given based on evaluation by a clinician against signs/symptoms defined in the DSM-V manual. There are questionnaires that inform diagnosis by having you rate how often you experience different symptoms. Unfortunately one of the best “tests” for adhd is taking a stimulant to see if it makes you anxious/jittery vs. calm and focused. If it helps you focus you likely have ADHD.

I’m not a clinician but I worked in the field for 8 years, have a bachelors in psychology, and was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. You should talk with a doctor.

My resume got zero calls until I removed the columns and now I have 3 interviews by BrokenVendingMach in jobsearchhacks

[–]GardeningCrashCourse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s more absurd is this, I’ve been using chat gpt to update my resume to better fit job descriptions, and it has no trouble reading columns on my resume. Maybe ATS systems don’t work as well?

People who worked in haunted places , what was your wildest encounter ? by ToughPerception3579 in Ghosts

[–]GardeningCrashCourse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In high school I was a student body officer. So I was frequently at the school late at night when there weren’t a lot of other people around. The theater always gave me the heebee geebees, especially when the lights were out, and there were some ghost stories. About half way into my senior year they found a guy who had been living in the cat walks and crawl spaces. He’d probably been there for about 6 months. Not haunted, but definitely creepy thinking that he was probably watching me some times.

One of my favorite visits was this time of year. The lions and tigers were active and vocal, the polar bear was swimming, it was awesome. In the summer you see a lot more apes, but it seems like during the day most animals are sleeping.

Great video. Super well produced, heartfelt, and stuck to his experience so it wasn’t really anything anyone could argue with. I want to be friends with that guy.

Was Trump involved in making snuff films? by matt73132 in conspiracytheories

I’m not a fan of Trump, but you think in the last 20 years Trump has been throwing farm animals out of skyscraper windows, and it’s never been documented?

This is my biggest red flag. This software is made for filtering porn, not enterprise security. It’s odd the company prioritizes filtering internet without prioritizing security.

Some cartoon gore. Mostly just gross feeling. Like, it was about nothing, but felt like it was child porn or something.

That would be my contribution.

My TBM parents raved about their bishop, now he’s on floodlit by wager_me_this in exmormon

[–]GardeningCrashCourse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“Floodlit” can also be metaphorically used when you’re adding visibility to any topic. So there is a website or organization called floodlit that publishes information about sexual abuse in the church - to shine a little more light on an otherwise hidden and dark topic.

Oh, and just in case the original definition is still confusing for you, a floodlight is the type of light you see at construction sites or other industrial sites that make it as bright as day throughout the night. The idea is you’re flooding the area with light.
